Hello folks! I’ve just returned from a week’s vacation in Australia’s Gold Coast, and it was amazing. I don’t know why I’ve procrastinated this long to visit this part of Australia, but it turned out to be a really great destination for families. From endless stretches of pristine beaches to theme parks, and within an hour’s drive there are rugged mountains and rolling valleys to explore. Take a look at my Instagram feed for some pictures, and stay tuned for Ezra’s youtube videos [here]!
Meanwhile, I hope the summer has been treating you well! SUQQU’s global summer collection finally landed, and though it is small, there are some fun pieces. I adore how the brand has been taking a younger, more playful approach lately, and the new pink-themed eyeshadow is definitely my favorite from this season. Take a closer look after the jump!
SUQQU Designing Color Eyes 125 Hikaribore bears the English translated name of Hot Pink, which sounds scarier than the palette really is. There is a striking pink for sure, and the usual accompaniments on the side. What is interesting is the added black base which is kind of cool.
As always, SUQQU shades bear all kind of gorgeous hidden micro-shimmers that is impossible to photograph normally, but shows up under low-lighting. These give the shades some muted complexity and dimension. I swatched Hikaribore in anti-clockwise direction, starting from bottom left:

To see you through the hot summer months, and ideally lots of time lazing around the pool, SUQQU has released new waterproof versions of its popular SUQQU Eyelash Mascara. These work particularly well on my skimpy and short Asian lashes, coating and defining them without causing lumps nor spidery lashes. Apart from the usual black and brown, there are also 2 limited edition seasonal hues – pink and navy blue.
To give you an idea of how the Hikaribore Designing Color Eyes palette and Eyelash Mascara look together, here is a simple EOTD for you:
I started by dusting the coral around my entire lid, followed by patting and pressing the pink into the middle. Next I pressed the black into the outer corner, blending upwards into the crease, and lining my lower lash line with it. Finally, I applied the champagne to my inner corner. I also applied 2 coats of the Eyelash Mascara in Navy Blue onto my lashes, and you can see the contrast it makes.
You cannot live through summer without some glow, and here is SUQQU Shimmer Liquid Highlighter. This is SUQQU’s first liquid highlighter and it comes in a pale pearly pink. The gleam is incredible, so a real tiny drop is more than you would need for a touch on the cheeks and cupid’s bow. You may apply this on top of your foundation, under for a more subtle effect, or mix it into your foundation directly for an allover glow.
And putting it all together, featuring the same eye makeup look we discussed earlier, I’ve also applied the Shimmer Liquid Highlighter on the tops of my cheeks and on my cupid’s bow. There are also a couple of lip balms and nail polishes from the collection but alas I don’t have them to show you. Check them out yourself and shop SUQQU online via Selfridges here.
