From time to time, my skin would react to one thing or another, and recovery takes time. As I age, the rate of recovery seems to have slowed, and yet my lifestyle is quickening. Who has time to stay home and await for better skin days?
Very recently, I was given this tube of Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche to review. It is a pity I never got around to writing a full review, because this little genie is instant SOS for irritated skin. It has a light milky texture with a marvelous floral scent that relaxes, dissipating all those anxiety and frustrations that bad skin often brings up. It is incredibly gentle, soothing all discomforts, never stinging. I massage it all over the face, including the eye area, leave it for 10-15minutes, and then blot off the excess. Instantly, any redness is greatly reduced, and my skin feels plumper.
To seal and boost the recovery process, I apply my favorite La Mer Moisturizing Gel Cream. Ever since I discovered La Mer (read about it here), the Creme de La Mer has always been in my stash. The original cream soothed my wind-burnt and severely dehydrated skin from weekend ski trips in the US. When I moved back to Asia, I turned first to the lotion and then the gel-cream. The latter feels slightly cooling when applied, and is absorbed rapidly, going to work to soothe, heal, moisturize and restore.
With these 2 power duo combined, my skin is much better overnight. It still takes some time for full recovery, but it now takes 3-4 days instead of a week.
What is your favorite skin-saving tip?
Sounds like a great masque. Will definitely look out for this. My fave skin care products are La Roche-Posay. My go-to moisturizer is La Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluid—makes my skin happy
Yes, this masque is great, do let me know how you like it after you’ve had the chance to try it! I’ve never had much luck with La Roche-Posay products though…. 🙁

Thank you so much for your kind nomination, my dear! I’ll try to work on this soon! xoxo
But la mer is so expensive! For harsh, cold weather I actually really like Elizabeth Arden visible difference (the one in a jar). I don’t love the smell, but it really saves my skin over the winther.
Yes it is 🙁 But Elizabeth Arden messes up my skin…
Would the gel cream be good for combination/oily skin?
Sure! I have combi skin too!
i tried the original La Mer cream and it was too greasy for me back then. i didn’t know there’s gel cream available!
whenever i feel my skin looks tired and lackluster, i exfoliate using home micro-dermabrasion product and use simple sheet masks (and take a nap!) 🙂
Hi Lena, thank you so much for sharing! Yes, I use Philosophy’s Micro Delivery Peel at home sometimes too! And yes, big love to sheet masks!!
Now I’m even more excited to try out my La Mer goodies!! CANT WAIT! 🙂
Also, you have perfect skin, Linda! I’m not at all shocked you have a simple routine cos you dont need anything – you’ve naturally lovely skin.
Oh Shari dear, the La Mer set hasn’t arrived yet? I heard about the typhoon, I hope all is well with you & your family!!
You’re too kind, my skin is far from perfect, which necessitates all these “special” remedies! ;P
