There were a number of brands that I had relied on heavily throughout my life and SK-II was one of them. I remember a time in my early 20s when I had used SK-II skincare exclusively, from cleanser to the now- di rigor Facial Treatment Essence and the now defunct Skin Signature. Just before my pregnancy SK-II re-invigorated the line with the Stempower cream [read here], and with my hormones all unbalanced after the birth of my son, I had to switch out to other brands. I was recently re-introduced to the family with the latest R.N.A. Power Duo, and am excited to be able to share my experiences with you starting with the SK-II R.N.A. Power Cream.
SK-II R.N.A. Power Cream is the latest moisturizing cream from the luxurious Japanese skincare brand. It improves on the previous Stempower line, to take anti-aging another step further. As with all the products in the SK-II family, the R.N.A. Power Cream is formulated with Pitera, which is a derivative from the sake-fermentation process rich in vitamins, amino-acids, minerals and organic acids, that closely resembles skin’s natural moisturizing factors. The R.N.A. Power Cream also contains the latest Radical New Age Complex which works on skin firmness, not only lengthwise but also crosswise, to improve the visible appearance of wrinkles, lines and pores.
Similar to the creams that preceded it, SK-II R.N.A. Power comes in the brand’s signature garnet jar albeit with a sexier curve to its profile. The cream itself has a lovely silky texture that feels incredibly lightweight on the skin despite the richness of the contents. A tiny bit goes a long way, hydrating and pampering my skin. It absorbs instantly and does not leave any residue or oiliness on my skin at all. In the past, I had reserved creams solely for night times, but given how light this R.N.A. Power feels, I am perfectly happy using this in the mornings especially on days when my skin feels drier than usual.
Over the past month, I have been waking up plumper and smoother skin every morning after applying SK-II R.N.A. Power Cream before going to bed. Even though I had been pulling late nights with my new job, I felt that SK-II R.N.A. Cream helped my skin look more radiant and kept the tired dullness away. I don’t have serious problems with pores so I can’t quite tell if this has helped in that aspect, but SK-II also promises to reduce the appearance of lines and nasolabial folds after 1 jar so I’m definitely excited! I did not experience any break outs even though my skin has tended to do that whenever I switched to a new formula in the past. Rather, my skin looks and feels wonderfully comfortable, a happy reunion with a brand that I had relied upon and loved in the past!
Stay tuned as I review the companion SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence tomorrow!

It’s been a long time since I tried anything from SKII. I remember their products broke me out. It might have been the pitera, I’m not sure. So after that, I just stopped using anything from SKII, and stopped being curious too. LOL!
Oh so sorry to hear that SKII broke you out! I’ve heard that happened with a lot of people, although thankfully it never happened to me. The FTE though is known to first break you out as it purges the skin, then things get better.
