Origins World of Masks!

July 12, 2017

I’ve been on the road a lot lately, and keeping my skin happy and balanced is tricky.  Very often, tried and tested skincare staples fail to address my skin’s needs, and so I like to pack some masks along for all kinds of SOS.  Of course, portability is essential, and I am thrilled by all the various travel-friendly masking options offered by Origins.

Origins Masks

Origins is well known for its wide range of effective masks to suit every concerns.  And now, they are available in a portable Mix and Mask Pod format!  These are available in 6 cult-favorites – Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, Drink Up 10 Minute Mask, Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask, Out Of Trouble 10 Minute Mask, Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Mask, and Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay.  Each pod contains a generous 10ml of product which is good for at least 2 uses (unless you plan on repotting the leftovers, the non-resealable lids mean each pod may be used for 2 persons).  On average, each pod is cheaper on a per unit basis than its full-sized equivalent, and is a great way to try out the masks for the first time, and more economical if you like having several options on hand for multi-masking.

Origins Flower Fusion Sheet Mask

One of my pet peeves with traveling is that my skin tends to dry up like a prune under the combined forces of dry cabin air onboard a plane, stripping effects of hard water, and exposure to UV.  After a long flight, there is nothing more relaxing than to lie back with a soothing mask.  And now, Origins has 6 amazing Flower Fusion Hydrating Sheet Masks for every occasion!

Origins Flower Fusion Hydrating Sheet Masks are all made with 100% natural bamboo fibre which is eco-friendly, and also feels soft and adheres well to the skin.  There 6 different masks to choose from, each formulated with flower waxes distilled from essential oils, and go towards moisturizing and protecting the skin.  Jasmine moisturizes and soothes away tension; lavender has antiseptic properties and calms; orange flower boosts radiance; raspberry flower refreshes; rose hydrates and is a great antioxidant; and violet nourishes and plumps skin.  Because of the flower waxes, each mask smells incredibly lovely, and is a joy to use.

Origins Rituali Tea Masks

After weeks on the road, I am looking forward to getting home and taking a few moments to re-center myself with a home-spa experience.  Origins Rituali Tea is a collection of tea-based masks for face and body.  The Origins Rituali Tea Powder Face Mask comes in a loose dry powder that transforms into a light creamy foam when mixed with water.  The entire process of mixing and blending out the mask helps me unwind, and it releases a lovely tea scent that feels utterly decadent.  There are 4 in the range – Matcha Madness with matcha and green tea, Oolong-La with oolong black tea and chai, Feeling Rosy with rooibos tea and rose, and Mind over Mate with yerba mate & citrus.

For every flavour in the range, there is also a matching Origins Rituali Tea Cleansing Body Mask.  These are cream based and rich in antioxidants and exfoliating sugars.  Massage a generous amount on damp skin, let the rich mask cocoon the entre body for a few minutes, then rinse off.  I have the one in Yerba Mate which has an uplifting citrus scent, and leaves me skin feeling soft and smooth afterwards.

Origins is a great brand with an extensive range of products for every skin type, and these new masking options make treating skin a really pleasurable experience.  Whatever you are in the mood for, I encourage you to stop by your nearest Origins counter to check these out!
