Laura Mercier is best known for its flawless face philosophy, buildable coverage that seeks to reveal the natural skin that we are born with. There are 2 new releases that I would like to share with you today – the Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Cushion, and the addition of a new shade Translucent Honey to the cult Translucent Loose Setting Powder.
Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Cushion is the brand’s first cushion, and embodies their signature flawless finish philosophy with buildable coverage that does not hide the natural skin look. This is achieved by the use of diamond powder which corrects skin tone naturally and provides a luminous finish. The formula comes with skin-caring ingredients such as water-lily extract to soothe and brighten skin, and an anti-pollution protective barrier to prevent pollutants from adhering to the skin. SPF50 PA+++ protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays.
The puff applicator comes with a slightly pointy tip which is helpful for reaching small corners such as the edge of the eyes. There are 6 shades available, and the one I have is 1W1 Ivory which is middle of the range, and is just slightly lighter than my actual skin tone, but a good match for my neck and rest of body. If you are much more tanned, you may have difficulty finding a shade. Coverage is surprisingly good, as you can see in the comparison photo below. I am having some acne scars on my chin and you can barely see them anymore without additional concealer. The Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Cushion effectively conceals my dark circles and the redness around my nose.

If you have problems with your makeup rubbing off on your masks, you should consider setting with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This is an icon of the brand, and remains a cult favourite with makeup artists even after all these years. The new Translucent Honey shade is a versatile creation that is not only suitable for setting makeup for olive, warm and golden skin tones; it also works as a more natural-looking alternative to “banana” powder. Here is a comparison against the original Translucent shade:
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder features a no-flashback formula for a soft-focus effect that blurs out fine lines and never leaves the complexion looking cakey. It also reduces shine and mattifies whilst letting skin breath.
Both Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance Perfecting Cushion and the new Translucent Honey Loose Setting Powder are out in counters now.
