I fell in love with La Prairie’s Skin Caviar range of products when I first tried out the Eye Complex [here], so I was thrilled to discover the newly launched La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-in-Lotion!
Caviar is at the heart of La Prairie’s iconic range of skincare products, and perfectly encapsulated in its Skin Caviar collection. This range features caviar extracts that improve elasticity and tone by lifting and firming the skin. Caviar contains many beneficial fatty acids, in particular, omega-3 and omega-6, lecithin and phospholipids, which all help to maintain a healthy skin barrier and plumps up the skin. It is also packed with lysine, vitamins and minerals that have nourishing and revitalizing effects on the skin. In addition, caviar helps to heal and prevent cellular inflammation and works alongside skin’s natural processes, stimulating collagen production and minimizing surface wrinkles.
La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-in-Lotion is a serum-like lotion that is designed to be used immediately after cleansing and toning, before other serums and moisturisers. Formulated with active caviar water, the Skin Caviar Essence-in-Lotion immediately improves skin’s hydration, and boost elasticity by plumping from within. For the first time, La Prairie scientists have found a way to extract the active components of caviar in a steam distillation process, to complement their existing caviar extract derived from classical extraction. These are combined with La Prairie’s signature cellular complex, which is a cocktail of skin-loving nutrients to energize skin cells and boost skin rejuvenation. The lotion is clear and lightweight, and 2-3 drops is sufficient for the entire face and neck. Although, the bottle pours out quite quickly, so you have to be careful not to spill. I like to pour it directly in my palm, then spread it between my hands before patting onto my face and neck. It feels extremely soothing and comforting on stressed out, irritated skin. Immediately after application, my skin feels hydrated and much plumper, and visibly better than before. I have been on acne medication and extremely careful with my skincare products, and have stripped away most of my serums and rich creams. It is a delicate balance between pampering my skin and preventing fresh break outs, and I am happy to report that La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-in-Lotion is simply perfect for my current needs!
As the seasons change, if you find yourself needing a bit of pampering, definitely check out La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-in-Lotion. So simple to use, yet it adds so much to the skin’s well-being.
This post featured a product that was generously provided for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
I have always purchased LaMer and less of LaPrairie. I tried a few things before I was blogging and really enjoyed them but then I’d go back to the store and get my LaMer. How do you think those two lines compare?
I agree…. i think partly because I’ve been using La Mer for so long, I’d choose that over all other brands. But having said that, there are several products from La Mer that just did not agree with my skin, so i’m quite careful. So far, everything that I’ve tried from La Prairie I’ve really enjoyed. Pricing wise, LP is so much spendier though…. so it’s a tough choice!
I purchased it and I don’t like it at all. I don’t see any effect on my skin, it is ridiculously overpriced and it so strongly scented (with added fragrance) that I have headaches every morning. At least it doesn’t have parabens, but it contains dimethicone that is quite a heavy silicones… So I cannot use my precious oils afterwards because it would be a waste of product. I will finish this essence because I spent a good portion of my budget for this thing, but I won’t repurchase it for sure. I don’t recommend it.
I’m sorry this was such a disappointment for you!! I do agree…. at the price, I find it really extravagent as well. As it is basically about hydration, I think you may find it more useful in the drier and colder months ahead? I find silicones in basically all skincare…. tbh I have yet to find a cream or lotion that does not contain any silicones.
