Nothing spells summer more perfectly than tropical colours so bright you can barely open your eyes, and an air so heavy with the fragrance of ripened fruity that you can almost taste it. This season, Jo Malone has managed to encapsulate the quintessence of summer in a bottle that is the most exceptional yet!
Jo Malone Tropical Cherimoya is half of the Hot Blossoms duo for this summer 2018. It joins 3 other Blossom colognes before it, and is inspired by the cherimoya fruit. Though I’ve spent most of my life living in the tropics, I’ve yet to encounter the exotic fruit myself, but if the real thing tastes anything like Jo Malone’s take, I am definitely intrigued!
Tropical Cherimoya starts out with a tart burst of green pear and a sweet creamy fragrance of passion flower. The middle note is composed of cherimoya, which to my nose smells like a mouthwatering mixture of bananas and coconut, perhaps a little bit of cherry or strawberry… I can’t quite decide. The base is slightly gourmand, very creamy and smooth, with one of my favourite fragrance note – tonka bean and copahu balm.
When I first took a whiff of Tropical Cherimoya on a scent card, I thought it was powdery, but it completely transformed on my skin. Heated by my body, Tropical Cherimoya grew bigger, airier, warm like sunshine in the late afternoon. It has decent sillage and has surprising longevity on me for a cologne (about 6-8 hours).
Jo Malone Tropical Cherimoya is limited edition, so I suggest you check it out before it disappears!
