For this 4th part of my mini-series on foundations, let’s turn to cushions for a change! There’s something about Guerlain’s Parure Gold range that always makes me breathe a blissful sigh. I have been using this range for years and years, and hands-down there is nothing quite as luxurious and forgiving on matured skin. And today, I’d like to introduce you to the new Guerlain Parure Gold Cushion Radiance Foundation, and as a surprise bonus, there’s also the new Guerlain Parure Gold Mist!
As with all other foundations from the Guerlain Parure Gold range, this new cushion is enriched with dual-faceted gold pigments to diffract light in a way that gives skin a radiance and luminosity that erases signs of tiredness. Of course for a luxe offering, Guerlain has also added skincare benefits, specifically targeting collagen synthesis for plumper and smoother skin. It is water-based so it should not cause clogs or breakouts on oily skin. Full list of ingredients may be found here.

For a cushion, Guerlain Parure Gold Cushion Radiance Foundation has surprisingly good medium-full coverage that is buildable, and easily eradicates dark circles and redness. It is also far easier to blend and apply than some of the other liquid foundations I’ve tried recently. Immediately upon application, skin looks incredibly smooth almost poreless, and there is a beautiful radiance from within that is the hallmark of Guerlain’s Parure Gold range.
You don’t need to mist after using the Parure Gold Cushion; but when you are feeling tired and need a pick-me-up, definitely consider the new Guerlain Parure Gold Mist. It is formulated with Echinacea extract which has anti-irritation and antioxidant properties; collagen-targeting peptides to plump up skin and reduce appearance of fine lines; and vegetable glycerin to hydrate skin. The golden frosted glass bottle is luxurious, though not too handy for toting around in a bag. I love the luxurious fine mist though, and I find it noticeably softens some of the more matte foundations I own.
I personally find a cushion easier to use on a daily basis as I do not need to dirty my fingers at all, and quicker to apply and touch up on the go. Guerlain has experimented with portable compact liquid foundations over the past years [see here], but this Parure Gold is the first true cushion in my opinion, and it is definitely a winner! A little late to the game perhaps, but certainly not one to pass up on if you love a good high end cushion. Check it out at a Guerlain or Sephora store near you. For your reference, I am using shade 01N Pale Beige above, which is a good match for me.
