Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum

June 18, 2016

I’m a big fan of Guerlain’s Orchidee Imperiale skincare collection, and even though I often have to put it aside to test other products, each time I return to the Orchidee Imperiale family, I fall in love all over again.  I had raved about the Lip & Eye Cream before [reviewed here], and now there’s a lighter Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum to be used alone or to complete your eye care ritual!

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum

The skin around my eyes has always been an area of concern for me, because of lots of late nights in college (not that I was studying actually.. but because I was kinda a gaming geek back then!), and a horrible habit of rubbing my eyes, I developed lots of premature wrinkles that I only realized much too late.  These days, I have problems with sleeping before midnight (or 1am actually) and spend most nights staring at my laptop before finally falling asleep.  So the effects of an eye care product becomes immediately recognisable.

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum leverages on the Gold Orchid Technology used in the Orchidee Imperiale line, which re-energizes skin’s natural repair mechanism and maintains cellular bioenergetic network.  And for the first time, Guerlain introduces the exclusive Bright-Eye Complex, which targets pigmentation disorders of melanic and non-melanic origin, dark shadows and puffiness and loss of tone on the eyelid.

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum ingredients

Ruscus Aculeatus Root Extract has been known to reduce the appearance of dark undereye circles, and can alleviate redness from rosacea which I sometimes suffer from especially around my eyes!  Mallow Extract is another ingredient which is great for sensitive skin, help with healing, and plump up fine lines.  Adenosine is a great anti-aging ingredient, boosting collagen and elastin.  Sunflower Seed Extract repairs skin’s barrier and reduces inflammation.  Albizia Julibrissin Bark Extract decreases line formation and also has soothing properties.

The Eye Serum is a lightweight fluid that spreads and gets absorbed easily.  A tiny amount is sufficient for both my eyes, and it is not visible here, but it contains a tiny bit of ultra fine diamond powder to give that additional brightening boost.  I find that it soothes my eye area incredibly well for such a light texture, and I can get by in the day without an additional eye cream.  For the night, I still layer on an additional eye cream, and I don’t find this Eye Serum makes the entire combination too rich at all.

Though not specifically stated, I do find Guerlain’s Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum to help prevent puffiness, and I would always wake up with nicely contoured eyes!  Dark circles do seem to be lighter and less obvious, and I sometimes get by without undereye concealers.  While I cannot honestly say that this has helped erase those decades-old wrinkles, I do think that it helps prevent formation of new ones, which is all I can hope for with any skincare product.  And the biggest win for me, is that whilst so many eye care products trigger irritations around my sensitive eye area (regardless of whether they are drugstore or premium luxury products), Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale The Eye Serum has been absolutely pampering for me!

I received a sample of their lip and I cream once and my first impressions of it were great. The price tag though! I do understand that it’s pricy. I wish it want so much. Great review as always! xo

I know…. the price just breaks my heart! But on the other hand, I’d rather invest in a product that really works, instead of wasting on a tonne of others that don’t. You probably don’t need it yet though! My old lady lids unfortunately…… 😀
