Can you believe there are just 3 more weeks to Christmas?! I spent all weekend long cleaning, which is not the most glamorous thing to do, but made sweeter by the sight of the adorable Too Faced Holiday 2016! This collection has been out for awhile now, and I hope you managed to pick up what you needed at the recent Sephora Black Friday sale (here in Singapore), but in case you are still wondering, here are some swatches and closeups to get going!
Too Faced’s holiday collection is tres cute! Even for someone like me who isn’t much into cute couldn’t help but squeal and get all googley-eyed. And when you put them all together… it’s like the first snow of the season, the twinkling city lights as viewed from Brooklyn Bridge, and the dropping of the ball at Times Square on New Year’s Eve all combined!
Building on their very successful chocolate-scented franchise, Too Faced gives fans The Chocolate Shop this season! It comes in a flattened box (pictured on the left in the photo above) that folds out to reveal a generous palette containing 21 eyeshadows, 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer/contour, and 1 blush. The box also contains a deluxe-sized Melted lip color in Milkshake, Shadow Insurance primer, and Better Than Sex mascara.
There are 3 “looks” designed for this palette, with the eyeshadows grouped horizontally in pairs, so you may think of it as 3 palettes laid out from top to bottom; and I have swatched them accordingly:
The first set of colors are nice neutrals for day-wear, with a couple of glitters thrown in for some fun.
This next set is warmer, and dripping with richness – I am in love with Butterscotch and Lava Cake!
You can’t go into the chocolate shop without having some candy-colored fun, and this last set is precisely that. Everything is impressively pigmented, and the colors swatch true to pan. Those metallic shades are on point!
The cheek shades are laid out vertically on the right side of the palette with Inner Light as highlight on top, Chocolate Soleil as bronzer / contour in the middle, and Chocolate Covered Strawberry as blush at the bottom. I really like the look of Chocolate Soleil as it is nicely pigmented for a bronzer, and does not pull orange on my skin tone!
A hot favourite (and my personal pick too!) is the Too Faced Grande Hotel Cafe! An adorable miniature-sized box shaped like a hotel opens up to reveal not 1 but 3 coffee-scented palettes!! If I ever was in danger of snoozing on this collection (impossible!!), Too Faced has guaranteed my whole-hearted addiction with these heavenly beauties.
Too Faced Grande Hotel Café – Eggnog Latte is a little dark and mysterious, shot through with gorgeous shimmers. It is generally warm-toned, but with a nice range to play with.
Too Faced Grande Hotel Café – Peppermint Mocha is perhaps a little less red than it appeared in the pan (I was really hoping Sprinkles would turn as wine-red as it looks), but no less fun.
Too Faced Grande Hotel Café – Gingerbread Cookie is a rich, melt-in-your-mouth palette. I was definitely impressed by how smoothly and pigmented Cup of Joe turned out to be!
That’s not all, Grade Hotel Café also contains a deluxe-sized Better Than Sex mascara to complete the look!
Too Faced Naughty Kisses & Sweet Cheeks is a really fun stocking stuffer to get… it contains 3 pairs of mini Love Flush Blushes and a matching Lip Injection Glossy! Each pair is packaged in its own box, so you can break up the set to keep and giveaway, or gift the entire thing to your bestie!
For fans of Too Faced’s Melted Lipsticks, there is a set of 4 deluxe-sized minis, in original, chocolate and matte finishes!
The shades are: Chihuahua, Fig, Honey (Melted Chocolate), and Lady Balls (Melted Matte) swatched here.
There are also adorable tree ornaments containing deluxe-sizes of everybody’s favourite Better Than Sex mascara, Lip Injection Lip Plumper, and Melted Liquified Lipstick! I’ve always wanted a tree filled with makeup goodies, and now the dream is real!!
This Too Faced Christmas in New York Holiday 2016 Collection is already out! Pick yours up before it sells out completely!
