I always look forward to the latest Estee Lauder lipstick release because I have never been disappointed before, and this season’s new launch is every bit as good as I imagined. The new Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint-on Liquid Lip Color is the brand’s latest liquid lipstick in an ultra comfortable formula.
If you have tried and enjoyed the previous Lip Potions [reviewed here], you are almost certain to love the new Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint-On Liquid Lip Color. The doe-footed applicator picks up just the right amount of product to fill the entire lip. The tube is entirely clear so you can easily see at a glance the shade and amount of product left within.
The formula is slightly thinner, less mousse-y than the Lip Potions, but no less pigmented. There are 38 glorious shades to choose from, in 3 different finishes. Unfortunately, I did not have time to swatch all 38 shades for you, but I did try out 6 of these Liquid Lip Colors that have been specially picked out for me.
From my experience, I found the matte shades to be much more pigmented and longer lasting than the others. They dry down faster, and you have about half a minute to feather or blend out with a brush (or just about anything else you fancy) before they set. Once the mattes set, they are mostly budge-proof, outlasting even a heavy meal.
The Vinyl shades have a nice lustrous gloss to them and slightly sheerer than the mattes though buildable. Unlike the Mattes, the Vinyls do not set completely, and do wear off with eating and drinking.
I need to highlight here that I’ve been wearing my lipcolors somewhat “undone” lately, preferring a stain over a full-on perfectly painted look. So if the lip swatches look imperfect, it is more a matter of my personal preference rather than a reflection of the formula. On th other hand, I really enjoy the lightweight texture, even after wearing these Liquid Lip Colors consecutively for days, I did not find my lips drying out.
There are also some shades available in a Metallic finish that has a high-shine without the glossy finish of the Vinyls. I did not get a chance to try these out, but if I do, I will be sure to update this post with my views.
