Estee Lauder takes our night-time skincare ritual to the next higher level with its cult-status Advanced Night Repair, and complements it with 2 new cleansers to perfectly prep skin for the evening regimen – Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm and Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam.
In order for skin to fully absorb all the wonderful skincare treats and to effectively repair itself while we sleep, it is important to first thoroughly cleanse and remove the day’s dirt and grime. Impurities and pollutants accumulate on our skin throughout the day, and can damage the skin’s natural delicate balance. This is why, I’ve always been an advocate of double cleansing. However, finding the perfect cleanser is paramount so as to gently lift away the unwanted particles without stripping skin of its natural moisture.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm is a souffle-light balm that is meant to be massaged over dry skin. This has the lightest, airiest texture of all the cleansing balms that I have ever tried, and it transforms instantly into a silky oil upon contact with skin to dissolve all the makeup. After working it into the skin, add a bit of water and the combination emulsifies to lift the impurities up to be rinsed off easily. It also works over the eyes, and is about the only cleansing balm that I would ever consider using on the eye area as it is so gentle and does not require much work to integrate with the skin. Afterwards, skin feels soft and supple, and the balm rinses off completely without leaving an oily film behind.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm contains Safflower Seed Oil to soften skin and leave it feeling smooth. Lady’s Thistle Extract and Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract are both great antioxidants, and help to counteract the aging effects of free radicals and the damaging effects of UV.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam is a lightweight, milky emulsion that feels both hydrating and soothing while it acts as a double cleanse to ensure all the day’s debris has been thoroughly removed. It emulsifies with water, but does not lather up a rich foam. Regardless, when used in combination with the Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm above, my skin is perfectly cleansed and when I sweep on a toner afterwards with a cotton pad, it comes away clear showing no leftover remnants. At the same time, this cleansing foam is so respectful of my skin, that I feel perfectly comfortable and there is no tight nor stinging sensation at all.
The most notable feature of this cleansing foam is the absence of any harsh sulfates. Instead, there are loads of skin-loving ingredients such as Watermelon Fruit Extract, Lentil Fruit Extract and Apple Fruit Extract which are all powerful antioxidants with skin softening and repairing properties.
To further enhance the night-time ritual, Estee Lauder has infused both the Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm and Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam with lavender and chamomile to calm the senses and help unwind.
If you love a good cleansing balm, I definitely recommend that you check out Estee Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm as it has a beautiful texture and is simply a pleasure to use. The Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam is a good follow-on choice for dual-cleansing, and no matter how dry or dehydrated your skin is, you don’t have to worry about excessively stripping your skin of moisture. Both are available now at all Estee Lauder counters, and retail for SGD56 (70ml) and SGD52 (100ml) respectively.

OK sold. I have to pick up the cleansing balm!
Hahaa… enjoy!!
I have read a lot about these two delicious cleansers I will have to try them both very soon. Especially the foam cleanser. Great write up and a well rounded view.
It does seem like this launch was very well publicized, and generally well liked by people! 🙂
So you think it hasn’t been well received 🤔
No… i think it has!
I’ve been using the same cleansing oil as a first step in my 2-step cleanse for years, because I never found anything that was better for me. I’m willing to try this cleansing balm in it’s place when I run out (which is soon), it sounds great!
I remember once telling a MUA that I even use this oil in my eye area (as you say here you can with this balm) and she gave me this face of absolute horror, LOL! I didn’t bother telling her I’m a pharmacist big on formulas and that I work in the cosmetic industry. Nor that it works better and more gently than any specific eye makeup remover I’ve ever tried. So much for her theatre act 😉 xx
Hi Sofia, i’m curious to know what this HG cleansing oil is!! I generally use a bi-phase cleanser for the eyes, simply because most other cleansers tend to sting my eyes. Balms tend to need some work to remove makeup completely, so I prefer not to use them on eyes. But this one is light enough and transforms almost instantly to oil that I feel safe enough doing it! 😉 Hope you get to try it soon, and let me know what you think pls!
My HG cleansing oil is the Origins one!!!
Oh i’ve not tried it, but now it’s top of my list!!
