Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eyeshadow Palette: The Dolce Vita

Before the year ends, I wanted to give you a glimpse into one of the best new makeup lines this year, and show you my personal favorite eyeshadow palette for parties this season – Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in The Dolce Vita.

Charlotte Tilbury is the latest makeup artist to launch her own beauty line, and was founded on the idea of making makeup effortless for the everyday woman .  The line is designed around 10 looks that she has created to suit a variety of women and occasions.  You can shop around the looks, or choose colors that have been specially picked by Ms Tilbury to contrast with your eye color & skin tone.

Personally, I found the range is still fairly limited at this point, and if you go by the color codes that are provided, there doesn’t seem to have much for Asians.  Notwithstanding, I do find the colors to be quite interesting.  In particular, the eyeshadow palettes have a good range of color (purple, blue, gold, copper, etc), and a variety of textures (satin, sparkle, shimmer) within each palette.  I had a hard time picking one, and finally “settled” on Dolce Vita which turned out to be a fave.

Underneath those full, flirtatious lashes is a super sultry stare. ‘Come to bed eyes’ may as well have been a phrase invented for you.

Clockwise from top left:

• Prime shade – light peachy champagne with pale gold micro-shimmers
• Enhance shade – medium warm reddish copper-brown with a satin finish
• Smoke shade – dark warm bronze with a satin finish
• Pop shade – sheer medium russet gold with gold shimmers

For her eyeshadow palettes, Charlotte Tilbury had designed them in mind to offer a complete “desk to disco” eye colour wardrobe and an easy to use application ritual.

DESK (day look)

STEP 1: Apply prime shade to the entire eye-lid, including the inner corners of the eyes to open them up.

STEP 2: Nestle the enhance shade in the outer corner of the eye socket and blend. Also apply the enhance shade along the upper and lower lashline.

DUSK (evening look)

Repeat STEPS 1 and 2.

STEP 3: Blend the smoke shade from the outer corner of the eye, upwards and into the socket. Then apply the smoke shade along the upper lashline and into the socket in a half-moon shape. Also run it along the lower lashline.

DISCO (night look)

Repeat STEPS 1, 2 and 3.

STEP 4: With your ring finger, apply the pop shade to the centre of the eyelid for amped up glamour.
