I trust you had a restful weekend… my lil bub was flu-ing away, and I myself just felt incredibly lethargic for no reason. So all I did all Sunday was stay home and take pictures of my pretty things in preparation for this week’s blog posts! Be warned!
Looking through all the Spring collection this year, I can’t seem to find anything to get me super amped up. Light pastel eyeshadows just don’t feel very me au current. But sweet, coral pink-ish cheeks, that’s something I can do for sure! I was this close to purchasing Dior’s Corail Bagatail blush from the Trianon Collection, when I decided to check my existing stash first. And what do you know, tucked in my drawers waiting for its season, was this lovely Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Is The Drug.
When it comes to blusher, I’m always seeking to re-create that shimmering, youthful flush of excitement you get when you’re in love – my clients and I call it the “love glow”.
— Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury’s blushers are designed with a 2-step “Swish & Pop” ritual – first you swish your brush around the outer ring of color and sweep that along your cheek bone; then dip the brush head in the center color and dab on the apples of your cheeks for a pop of color. Sounds a little bit complicated, but it’s really easy, and it instantly gives the cheeks greater dimension and glow.
There are 6 variations of these Cheek to Chic blushers, and mine is called Love is The Drug. It consists of a lighter coral-ish pink, and a brighter peach pink. Both are incredibly pigmented, and has a satin finish. The texture is incredibly soft and finely milled. It also wore well on me, lasting through 8-10 hours with minimal fading.
This Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blush retails at GBP30 (approximately SGD60) for 8gm of product. It is available internationally via Selfridges.com. I do wish there is greater variety of colors, but for a first collection, I am genuinely pleased with the quality! This Love is the Drug is surely going to be one of my more often reached-for blush this season!
