I was caught by surprise when September crept up on me… it came and went just like that. I have not been going out much, any trips out are mainly pick up and go. Here in Singapore, they have sealed all the makeup testers so it feels rather pointless to browse. Which is all to excuse my lack of seasonal updates. Regardless, I love Chanel’s Les Beiges, and when I finally laid eyes on the pieces, I knew they were keepers regardless of the season or the current challenging times!
Chanel Les Beiges has really grown up over the years, and become a line that I personally rely on for a naturally glowy healthy skin look. This year’s release though small, capture the essence of that luxurious chic vibe perfectly. My top pick is the Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid. This is a liquid highlighter that is more flash than shimmer, and is beautiful worn mixed with your choice of base makeup or just over the high points of the face. I imagine you can also use it on the legs to elongate or on the décolletage. There are 2 shades available – a deeper more golden Sunkissed, and here is Pearly Glow.
The iconic piece every year is the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Illuminating Powder. This year is no exception, with the release of a special nautical themed design. What makes this one special is that it has soft shimmers whereas previous years’ releases were more matte. There are 2 shades, and the one I have here is Sand.
I have not been wearing nail polishes ever since baby Leyton arrived, but these new Chanel Le Vernis in Cruise and Sailor are so cheery I could not resist. Cruise is a sophisticated tangerine that is neither too warm nor to chalky… just perfect. Sailor is a beautiful strawberry red and applies like a dream.
Lastly, no summer is complete without a good tinted lip balm. These days we are wearing masks so much that my lips feel parched all the time, so I’m constantly reaching for my balms. Why not look a little sophisticated for that unscheduled last minute video call? Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm in Warm is a lovely warm rosewood on me.
How did your summer go?
