Chanel Le Vernis Verde Pastello & Giallo Napoli from Neapolis Collection

January 7, 2018

Welcome to the first #ManiMonday post of 2018!!  I finally soaked off my gel manicure, and am able to properly swatch a couple of nail polishes from the Chanel Neapolis Collection.  There are 4 shades to choose from, each one inspired by the colors of Napoli.  There is a sweet pastel pink to tease the spring, a classic red, and a couple of Le Vernis that are more exotic and unexpected.  As you can probably guess, I went for the latter.

Chanel Le Vernis 590 Verde Pastello is an interesting medium teal that pulls more green under sunlight, yet appears more blue under indoor lighting.  It has a nice creamy finish, and is nicely opaque in 2 light coats.

Chanel Le Vernis 592 Giallo Napoli is a bright, sunny yellow that is nicely neutral-toned without being too warm.  It tended to streak somewhat, but evens out easily in 2 generous coats.

I had a bit of fun with these two, and created a spot of nail art.  In case you are wondering, I first laid down 2 coats of Verde Pastello, then I taped out an arbitrary design before filling in with Giallo Napoli.  To finish, I dabbed on a bit of clear glitter before sealing everything with a coat of gloss.

Ah, you’re a nail art expert! And you must be so patient too. Needless to say, I won’t even try to attempt this. Hahaha!
