Albion Elegance Rouge Superbe
There have been lots of new lipstick releases this past year, and I have been meaning to review a few more before the year ends….unfortunately time does not seem to be on my side. In the midst of the holiday season, a surprise delivery of Albion’s latest Elegance Rouge Superbe showed up, and these are too pretty to miss. Also, I know how you love something just a bit off the mainstream, yet no less (if not more!) covetable.
Albion’s luxury makeup line Elegance brings us a brand new lip color formula this season with the Rouge Superbe collection. As befitting its name, each lipstick comes in a luxurious golden casing. The tip of the bullet is embossed with the double-E logo of the Elegance line, though it goes off after the first few swipes.
The Rouge Superbe formula glides on smoothly, spreads effortlessly, and melts into the lips, delivering vivid color payoff with just a single stroke. There are 13 shades to choose from, and I received 5:
The shades I have are:
- 01 – medium warm-toned salmon coral
- 04 – dark warm-toned red
- 05 – dark wine red
- 08 – light neutral-toned pink
- 10 – light neutral beige
Here are the swatches on my lips for your reference. They appear darker due to my lips’ natural pigmentation.
Overall, I really enjoyed the creamy texture of these Elegance Rouge Superbe lipsticks! They glide easily without tugging, and do not dry out my lips with continued wear. My lips looked a little drier towards the end of the swatches because I was doing these in succession and the removal of each previous shade caused some light flaking.
With a formula that has this much glide, it is difficult to expect man overly long wear time. These lipsticks do transfer with eating and drinking, but they also leave a nice little bit of a stain behind. If left alone, they do not fade in color or luster.
