I have been eagerly awaiting Aerin fragrances to get to Singapore for a very long time. It was here for a short stint some years back, but then withdrew from the market until now. Founded by the granddaughter of Estee Lauder, Aerin aspires towards an effortlessly beautiful lifestyle. There is an extensive range that has been built over the years, of which 9 has recently arrived on our shores.
Aerin perfumes come in minimalistic rectangular glass flacons adorned with a gem-like stone stopper. The design and scent contained within are inspired by Aerin’s love for nature, and elements that she encounters in her daily life. Each perfume comes My favourite so far, is Amber Musk.
Aerin Amber Musk is one of the first fragrances that the brand released back in 2013, and is one of my favourites to wear when it is cold outside. A spritz of it feels like a cashmerean embrace, soft and comforting. I was surprised, because there I could not detect any trace of amber in the brew, but rather rose centifolia was quite prominent. Unlike other straight-laced rose fragrances, Amber Musk tantalizes with the gourmand scent of coconut water, not the suntan lotion sort though, but of the clear transparent variety. It adds a touch of creaminess to the scent, complemented by musk, ambroxan and benzoin.
Much as I enjoy wearing Amber Musk though, this is a rather ephemeral scent with average throw and sillage. On me, it smells absolutely amazing for the first hour, but then it dries down and stays fairly close to the skin. Thereafter it stays on for about 3-4 hours and then disappears completely. It is still an utterly beautiful scent, and ideal for a dinner date when you don’t want to overpower your companion. If you need it to last all day, then carry the rollerball version in your purse to touch-up!
