Zoeva The Basic Moment Eyeshadow & Blush Palettes

My first encounter with Zoeva was in the form of a concealer buffing brush, which has outshone every designer / luxury brand to become my daily companion.  This is my first proper experience with Zoeva makeup, and if these The Basic Moment palettes are anything to judge by, I can foresee my collection growing rapidly!

Zoeva The Basic Moment Collection

Zoeva The Basic Moment Collection is designed with neutral-lovers in mind, and is perfect for that easy, natural beauty look.  It consists of a 10-shade eyeshadow palette and a 3-in-1 cheek palette.

Zoeva palettes come in lightweight carton packaging and magnetic closure. Each pan is generously sized with 1.5gm of product, and very affordably priced at USD27.  The Basic Moment Eyeshadow Palette has a good range of base powder, 3 different color pairings with a matte and metallic option for each, and a couple of highlighters.  Here are the swatches:

From left to right, the shades are:

  • Make It Last – pale matte ivory, impressively smooth and pigmented
  • Yet To Come – pale frosty champagne
  • Here To Stay – light matte peachy-brown, this shade disappears into my skintone
  • Liquid Clock – pale frosty pink
  • Never Ending – medium-light matte taupe-y brown
  • Unfinished – medium metallic, shimmery copper
  • New Era – medium-light matte brown with a slightly reddened base, this is the only shade that didn’t swatch smoothly
  • Waiting – medium-dark metallic bronze with scattered shimmers over a satin base
  • Ever – dark matte grey
  • Nostalgic – dark metallic graphite with shimmers over a satin base

All of the shades that I tried wore well, lasting throughout the day (I did apply them over a primer though!) without fading nor creasing.

Here are a couple of eye looks created using the Basic Moment Eyeshadow Palette:

For this eye look I played with the brown tones in the Basic Moment Eyeshadow Palette.  I started with Never Ending all over my lid as a base, followed by New Era on the inner half of my lid.  Next I smoked out the outer corner with Waiting, and finished with Yet to Come on the inner corners. Pressed a tiny bit of Liquid Clock to the center of my lid for just a bit of pop!

This next look features the other 2 smokier shades in the palette.  Started by simply applying Ever all over my lid, followed with Nostalgic on the outer corner.  Lined lower lash line with black liner and  bit of Nostalgic, finished with Liquid Clock on the inner corner and popped Unfinished into the middle of the lid for a bit of oomph.

Zoeva The Basic Moment Cheek Palette

Cheek palettes are some of my favourite things to pack on a trip, and this Zoeva The Basic Moment Blush Palette is a darling.  It contains a whopping 3 x 3.8gm of product, and retails for only USD16.80.

From left to right, the shades are:

  • Yet To Come – light warm-toned pink blush with a matte finish.  This shade has a strong white pigment that washes out the pink tones.  It also feels quite dry and stiff in the pan, and I had to swatch it more times to get it to show up than the other 2 shades.
  • Liquid Clock – light warm-toned golden highlighter.  This has very good pigmentation and shows up well.
  • Unfinished – medium neutral contour / bronzer with a satin-matte finish.  I love that this shade is soft enough to work as a natural-looking contour, and still flexible enough to be worn as an all-over bronzer.
