When I first saw the early images of this, I knew I absolutely had to get it! From the house of Yves Saint Laurent comes this gorgeous 5-color eye palette for Summer 2013. Exotically named Marrakesh Summer, this limited edition palette features 5 different shimmery shades that are individually interesting, and complement each other beautifully.
The swatches from left to right, correspond to the shades of the palette pictured above, counter-clockwise from the top. Bronze, peach, champagne, gold, and purple. This purple was the one that drew me irrevocably to this palette, as it actually contains specks of blue and pink shimmers!
Although all 5 shades contain shimmers, the size and amount differed tremendously. As you can see from the swatches above, the champagne and gold shades were the most obviously shimmery, whereas the purple required a bit more work to get the shimmers in place. I found dabbing and pressing the pigments onto the lid worked best, as opposed to simply swiping the brush from side to side.
The Marrakesh Summer Palette comes in a stunning golden case, emblazoned with an intricate Moroccan arabesque detailing. And in the middle of it all, the iconic YSL brand stands out.
YSL Marrakesh Summer Palette is now available at Ion, and is selling fast! Grab it while you can!
I am always in awe when it comes to the beauty of ysl make ups. The champagne and gold could be used as bronzer/ highlighter, can’t they ?
Hmm… i think the gold is way too yellow to be a bronzer whilst the champagne is not quite as finely milled (it is one of the more shimmery ones) to be a highlighter. You could mix it in with your blusher to create a natural-looking shimmer on the apples of your cheeks, but you do have to use a light hand so you don’t create disco balls! 😉
I’m in love !
I know the feeling!!!
