New Tom Ford Lip Color Shine for Spring 2015

January 20, 2015

Are you still, reeling from those 50 phenomenal Lips and Boys from Holiday 2014?  Hot on their heels are 4 brand new Tom Ford Lip Color Shine lipsticks for Spring 2015!  While those boys were exceptional with their color variety, with the turning of the season, I feel like a lip wardrobe refresh is in order. Now that party season is over, and we are well on our way into the business year, I need something a lot more wearable on a daily basis. And there is no better choice than one of these Tom Ford Lip Color Shines for ultra comfort, color and shine!

The Tom Ford Lip Color Shine range features an ultra-creamy formula that feels lush on the lips and are a much more comfortable alternative to the main Tom Ford Lip Color range, which are somewhat drying on me and I can’t get more than 2 consecutive days’ wear without needing a break. They are slightly denser and creamier than Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, and not as slippery as YSL Rouge Volupte Shine. In terms of coverage, these Lip Color Shines are traditionally slightly sheerer than the other Tom Ford Lip Color range, and the colors are more neutral, the my-lips-but-better description comes to mind, but at their price points, we really need something better than mere lip balms. And these Spring 2015 releases put all of the wonderful perks of the Lip Color Shine formula to work plus amped up color and shine!

Because I’m so terrible at taking close-up lip swatches, I’m going to give you the full LOTD.  And somehow with the full face in context, you can tell the effect of the various shades better.  Yes, 4 of my faces in 1 post, that’s some kind of record I think!

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Frivolous LOTD

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Frivolous is a soft warm-toned pink with creamy beige undertones and a lustrous shiny finish. This is a very sweet, everyday wearable shade that would match most Asian skintones, and goes with most of my makeup.

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Sultry LOTD

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Sultry is a soft coral with warm undertones and a shiny finish. This is a nice, everyday alternative to the more violent matte orange lip colors that I’ve been sporting in the Fall [see here], and puts a healthy, juicy look back to my lips.

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Unabashed is a mauve-ish pink with the same color intensity as Frivolous, but pulls more mauve with stronger blue-base. On my pigmented lips the difference is almost indecipherable, but once matched to an overall look, it becomes more obvious.

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Lust LOTD

Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Lust is the boldest of the 4 in this Spring release, and it is a soft red with very fine shimmers. I love this shade the most as I find it strikes a good balance between a sultry pout whilst still being very day-appropriate.

I am very happy to find 4 new additions to the Tom Ford Lip Color Shine range as this is a wonderful formula, so easy on the lips and everyday wearable. More importantly, I find these new additions bring shine to a whole new level. They also feel more opaque than the previous members of the family, and easily cover my lips in 1-2 swipes. All 4 have a good level of color intensity to be more than mere MLBB- overpriced lip balms, and pair wonderfully with this season’s surprisingly bold eye looks. It will all make even more sense once I unveil the rest of the Spring 2015 collection from Tom Ford shortly – stay tuned!

These new Tom Ford Lip Color Shine lipsticks will be available in February, and will retail for SGD$72 each.

The regular Tom Ford lipsticks are drying on my lips too so maybe I should try these! Thanks for the review and swatches and I especially love the full face swatches to give is a better idea and you’re super beautiful anyway!!!

Thank you so much, Ingrid. That’s incredibly kind of you to say! :* The Lip Color Shines are definitely much more moisturizing and comfortable on the lips than the regular ones… and i’m so happy to see them expand the color range with these 4!

You wear all of them so perfectly!! I’m increasingly excited about TF’s Spring’15! Are these all LE? I’ve have to be cut throat and pick only a few if they are.

    • silverkis says:

Thank you so much babe! :* I think these are permanent 😉 I’d have thought with LE you’d have to get ’em all… but hey, it’s really hard to pick!!!

  6. Love love all four! You look beautiful in all the FOTDs.
I think if I were to select one for myself it would be Sultry.

Oh coool! Thanks for the lip swatches and LOTD, Linda! All of these are pretty and shades that I’d wear. I wouldn’t know how to choose 🙂

    • silverkis says:

Me neither!! They all look fairly similar in the tube, you’d really have to try them on the lips together with the rest of your makeup to decide!

I don’t mind seeing your face four times in one post Linda! I think Unabashed might be a great MLBB shade for me, and I quite like the look of Sultry too. It really suits you, which makes me want to try it.
