Happy Mani-Monday again my loves! I hope everyone had a very lovely Valentine’s Day weekend! My hubby surprised me with the greatest gift of all – cleaning up our massive floor-to-ceiling display bookshelf! I know it sounds duh, but when you’re married with a toddler, and no domestic helper to boot, spending a precious weekend just before the crazy Chinese New Year festivities, volunteering and actually committing to a massive cleaning job is no small feat. So yay to the mister! And now turning to more important business at hand, I have another Spring 2015 limited edition nail lacquer to show you!
Tom Ford Black Jade Nail Lacquer is 1 of 2 limited edition nail colors for Spring 2015. It is a very deep blackened green with the most beautiful iridescent micro shimmers. On my nails, it turned out much blacker than Indigo Night, the other nail color offering from Tom Ford this season. Black Jade reminds of the most mysterious forest on a midsummer’s eve… very enchanting indeed.
The shimmers in Black Jade are very subtle, only showing up under direct lighting, but serves to provide greater depth to the color. On its own, Black Jade dries down to a matte finish, and I personally find the color pops much more with a good glossy top coat.
Consistent with all other Tom Ford nail lacquers, Black Jade applies rather thinly, and requires up to 3 coats to be completely opaque. I may be in a rush when I was swatching it, but it felt to me to take slightly longer than Indigo Night to dry completely. Regardless, once it does, it lasts me a good 3 days before minor wear at the edges, and up to 5 days for major chips to happen.
And with this post, I have completed my review of the entire Tom Ford Spring 2015 collection! For a look at the Eye Color Duos – Crushed Indigo, Ripe Plum, Raw Jade. This bottle of Tom Ford Nail Lacquer in Black Jade was kindly lent to me by my dear friend Meryl. Do hop on over to her blog to show her some love too!
It looks like such a Tom Ford color, I love it!
Yes i think this season’s nail polishes are really special, and true to TF’s aesthetics!
Havent yet tried any TF polishes, and if it’s the norm to need 3 layers, then I’m too lazy for that. Nonetheless, beautiful colour on your lovely nails!
Yes i was initially very annoyed that it takes me 3 coats… i’ve seen some blogs report 2 coats is sufficient, maybe i’m just unusually skimpy with my polishes. But they dry so quickly in general, i dont feel the 3 coats at all.
This looks so lovely. I love blackened colors and I just received my two nail polishes today so will be trying them out very soon.
The present of your hubby is the best! I wished mine offered me things like that!
Instead he wrote me an equation which doesn’t clean the shelves LOL
LOL I love the heart-shaped equation!! Thats the boys we picked… Cant wait to see your swatch comparisons!
This is so wintery in a way! Deliciously vampy 🙂
Yes i felt rather xmassy really!!
