Be the Life of the Party with THREE Cosmetics this Holiday 2018

December 4, 2018

THREE Cosmetics has always favoured minimalistic functionality over excessive girlie frills in its product packaging, but I was still surprised by the stark black zippered pouch containing the latest Holiday 2018 palettes.  Having relied on it for the past weeks though, I think the small palm-sized pouches and virtually destruction-proof packaging are absolutely brilliant for travels and on-the-go makeup.  This season’s Art of Parties Collection feature 2 makeup palettes, and the one I have here is called Life of the Party.

THREE Life of the Party PaletteThe makeup palettes contain a mixture of cream and powder products, and are designed to be multi-use.  There is also a small cheek brush and a dual-ended eyeshadow applicator.  The shades are swatched according to their relative position on the palette below.

THREE Life of the Party Palette swatches

A: medium-dark warm-toned brown cream eyeshadow.  This is typically the base shade that THREE’s style of makeup employs, it helps to smoothen out creases on dry lids and holds the other powder shades in place.  I found this particular shade easy to blend, sheering out or building up intensity as I wish without much effort.

B: medium-light peachy-brown powder eyeshadow with warm-toned flecks of pink and champagn microshimmers.

C: light warm-toned pink with brightened metallic gold micro-shimmers.

D: medium mauve cream color with specks of gold and pink micro-shimmers.  This shade may be used on the lips and eyes.

E: medium rose cream gloss with hints of pink micro-shimmers.  This shade may also be used on the lips and eyes.

F: neutral-toned medium-dark red cream color for lips and cheeks.

G: medium rose powder blush

THREE Life of the Party Palette makeup look

I have not tried using the lip shades on my eyes as my lids are naturally oily and makeup tend to slip.  However, I was pleasantly surprised that the cream eyeshadow base holds up very well with or without an eyeshadow primer, and lasts throughout the day without creasing nor smudging.  The neutral-toned red lip color provides a nice contrast with the warmer-toned eye shades; but the other 2 lip colors are too nude against my skintone.  The rosewood cheeky chic blush sculpts the cheeks naturally, and is impossible to overdo.

THREE Life of the Party palette is something that creates easy, chic everyday looks.  For parties, I would layer on a bit more shine and use a liner to smoke and define the edges of the eyes.  Alternatively, if you are looking for a bit more fun, you should check out the other Art of Parties palette.  These palettes retail for SGD120 each, and are available at Level Tangs Orchard, and Takashimaya S.C. in Singapore.
