THREE AW2020 World Citizen
THREE Cosmetics’ AW2020 makeup collection is designed specifically for this COVID-inflicted times, perfect for those of us who need easy-to-wear makeup for video conferences at home and supermarket runs. Titled “World Citizen”, it bore such a beautiful sentiment that resounded deeply with me, and I would like to share it with you.

In a world that is increasingly fragmented and nationalistic policies rampant, I really welcome this refreshing reminder from THREE. We are all connected, we need to be more than ourselves.
THREE’s AW2020 collection is a rather generous 13-piece offering for the eyes and lips. I have just 3 items but they seem to have been specially selected for me, because I love them!
I have not been wearing heavy eye makeup since I started working from home, in fact most days I skate by with just my eyelash extensions. When I received the new THREE Dimensional Vision Eye Palette Ally, I could not resist dipping in right away because suddenly a creamy wash of color seemed like a great idea. THREE’s cream shadows are a breeze to apply whether with finger or brush, they do not thin out the way other potted ones do, and truly a minimalist’s dream come true. The palettes are designed to be used either singly or layered for different effects. There are 3 variations available, and the one I have here is an empowering red- and gold-themed 01 Positive Princess.
The shades in clockwise direction starting from top left are:
- Metallic wheat-gold with light golden shimmers
- Medium copper-red with a satin finish
- Pale blonde-gold with a metallic finish and sparse shimmers
- Light taupe with a matte finish
The metallic shimmers are really lovely layered on top the other deeper shades in the palette.
It sometimes baffles me how Japanese makeup seems to obsess over coloured mascara. THREE offers 3 coloured Art Expressionist Mascara, and the one I have is 01 Eye Witness (swatched above). In general, I find THREE’s mascaras to separate my lashes nicely, do not clump and do not weigh my lashes down.
There are 2 different lipstick offerings in the collection – THREE Daringly Distinct Lipsticks are creamy matte, so creamy and comfortable I did not even notice they are matte! Three bold shades of varying browns and reds, the one I am wearing above is shade 11 Feeling Freedom. I wore this under my mask when I went out recently, and was surprised it did not transfer onto my mask and was still on my lips at the end of the day! There is also a glossy glow formula named THREE Daringly Demure Lipstick in case you are interested.
Before we go, I would like to also show you 1 new item from THREE’s recent base makeup collection – THREE Solar Tinted Flow Powder. This is a 3-in-1 powder that has both a skin-colour powder for touching up your makeup, and a coloured bronzer on the other spectrum of the palette. Swipe both together and it works as a sun-kissed blusher too. Here are the swatches of the 2 shades from the palette:
There is just 1 universal shade, but surprisingly it matched my skin tone perfectly!
