These little pampering treats

November 24, 2013

Im a terrible hoarder, saving up all my precious minis and samples forever. It wasn’t until I brought my La Mer moisturizing gel cream out again recently (read here), that I finally decided it was time to go on an all-La Mer regiment (or at least as far as my stash allowed).

Every evening, I would massage a dollop of The Cleansing Lotion to my face.  The Cleansing Lotion is a silky milk-like emulsion that goes to work gently but effectively to remove all my makeup.  It is gentle enough to remove eye makeup as well, but I generally prefer to do that using a eye makeup remover soaked in cotton pad.  Afterwards, I rinse off with water.

Unfortunately I don’t have a mini of one of La Mer’s toners, but I have tried The Tonic before and loved it.  Instead, I used one of my own from another line.

After toner, I patted on a drop of The Hydrating Infusion.  This has an almost gel-like consistency, and contains a potent cocktail of La Mer’s Miracle Broth, vitamins, minerals and tourmaline.  Instantly, my skin looks plumper, much more hydrated and supple.  I love love love this, and will be repurchasing the full size!

Next, I swept on The Radiant Serum using my fingers.  This is a lightweight, clear fluid that is absorbed instantly, without leaving any trace.  The Radiant Serum is made of La Mer’s exclusive Deconstructed Waters™, and filled with antioxidants to diminish the appearance of stubborn dark spots and helps prevent future discoloration.  Unfortunately for me, I didn’t quite see much brightening and spot-reducing from the 2 weeks that this sample lasted.

Lastly, The Eye Concentrate is an old friend.  It is one of 2 La Mer eye treatments, and the only one that I can use safely (the other The Eye Balm causes the skin around my eye to itch).  It is a lightweight cream, which contains hematite, a magnetically-charged mineral, that is supposed to help reduce the appearance of dark circles, surface discolorations and unevenness.  It is designed to be used with the silver massager that comes with the full-sized product (a La Mer innovation that existed long before Lancome’s Genefique Yeux).    The reason I stopped using this in the past was because I never quite saw dramatic improvements in dark circles, but it certainly helped hydration and was a pleasant reintroduction to my evening regiment.

Have you tried anything from La Mer yet?  Which is your favorite pampering treat? – xoxo
