Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate & Firming Eye Serum

March 6, 2016

I’m a big fan of Tatcha, not only because the products are fabulous, but also every package that arrives is immaculately presented.  I was ecstatic when I saw the latest additions to the Luminous skincare line, and right after I tried out the new Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate and Firming Eye Serum, I wanted to tell you all about it.  But that wouldn’t have been fair, so I dutifully went back and tried it out for a few more weeks just to be completely sure how much I love it.  Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate & Firming Eye Serum

Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate is a sumptuous gel-creme that promises to replenish skin, diminish the look of fine lines, and reveal a youthful glow in one use.  It comes in a luxurious jar and a golden spatula that measures out the perfect amount of product for each use.  I love that Tatcha builds in a little loop in the lids to hold the accompanying spatulas so I will never lose them and my OCD hates having to find a clean spot to lay them down.

The product itself feels like beancurd or jell-o, bouncy when you first dig into it, quickly transforming into a fluid when applied to the skin.  Despite the rather convoluted name, the way I think about this is a sleeping mask with a lightweight texture.  It contains squalene which penetrates the skin incredibly well and has reparative properties.  Panax Ginseng Root Extract is a potent antioxidant, and promotes wound healing.  Origanum Majorana Leaf Extract, Zizyphus Jujuba Fruit Extract, Thymus Serpillum Extract, and Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate all have anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antibacterial properties.  Royal Jelly Extract is a wonderful antiaging ingredient, and has the ability to prevent micro-inflammations in the subcutaneous levels that often lead to pre-mature aging.  Full list of ingredients may be found here.

Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum ConcentrateThis Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate contains a high dose of Okinawa Red Algae which is a rich source of natural polysaccharides with a proven ability to enhance skin’s barrier function, replenish the skin’s natural water reservoir, and increase its moisture-retention capabilities.  So it is no wonder that my skin looks much more supple and bouncier each morning after I apply the Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate!  My skin is firmer, more even in tone, any red sensitive patches I have are much reduced, and I generally see my skin looking happier!

Tatcha Luminous Firming Eye Serum

Tatcha Luminous Firming Eye Serum is the perfect accompaniment to the Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate.  It comes with a curved ceramic applicator tip that feels cool to the touch, and helps to sooth away puffiness.

As expected, the Firming Eye Serum is incredibly lightweight, but manages to keep my dry eye areas perfectly hydrated throughout the day.  It contains a high dosage of Silk Extract which helps repair cells, promotes cell regeneration and conditions the skin for improved elasticity and resilience.  Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract is a well-known antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties to prevent premature aging.  Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Leaf Extract stimulates the removal of toxins and waste materials, leaving skin more vibrant and less susceptible to inflammaging.  Caffeine helps to reduce puffiness, something that I badly need these days!  A full list of ingredients may be found here.

The best way to use the applicator is to first squeeze out a generous peas-sized amount of product, and dab it all around the eye area.  Thereafter, glide the applicator over the eye area to spread the product and gently massage.  For those whose eye areas simply cannot tolerate richer eye creams, this is a wonderful alternative as it is lightweight and yet packs a punch in its hydrating properties.  I have given up hopes of finding an eye product that will erase lines, but as long as it is able to keep my skin well moisturised, it has already fulfilled the goal of preventing new lines form forming.  This is probably not one for dark undereyes, but I certainly noticed my eyes looking less puffy in the morning and slightly more lifted!

As always, huge love for Tatcha, and I especially love these 2 recent releases.  The Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate is one of the best sleeping masks I have in my arsenal, perfect for lazy nights when I just want to wash, slap on something and go to sleep right away.  The Luminous Firming Eye Serum is wonderfully light and so hydrating, I can even layer another eye product without overdoing it.  It’s great for day use under makeup too!  People have asked me what is the best way to order Tatcha from Singapore, and the answer is to simply purchase from their website [unaffiliated link].  They ship worldwide via USPS for a flat rate of $35, and free for purchases above $250.  Do be careful though, the Singapore customs levy GST tax for purchase amounting to above SGD400.  Let me know if you have further questions!

Ah another glowing review! I only tried some deluxe samples of some of Tatcha’s products, so I haven’t used them enough to sing praises yet. I should get a full sized item to try but it’s USD250 for free shipping and I will surely be taxed. I wonder if they’ll expand their distributorship to someone who ships internationally for free >_<

I simply can’t sing the praises often enough for Tatcha’s Overnight Memory Serum. As I’ve aged, my skin has thinned and it has become more difficult for it to retain moisture. And, with the persistent drought conditions here in Southern California, keeping my skin hydrated has been quite a problem. I can say unequivocally that Tatcha’s innovative gelée serum has been a blessing and a real game changer for my parched skin. I ordered directly from Tatcha and when they sent the product, they also thoughtfully (and generously) included one of their travel size moisturizers along with a handwritten note to use the gel followed by the moisturizer both day and night until my skin had normalized and then once a day or as needed. I’m sure that my past ordering history clearly indicated I was devoted to their Dewey and Indigo lines and that I had dry, sensitive skin, but I thought that extra personalized touch was an extraordinary bit of caring customer service 🙂

I began by using the serum as Tatcha had suggested (morning and night) and got immediate relief from the discomfort, roughness, and redness that my skin was experiencing. And, as I continue to use the serum (just at night now), I can clearly see that the moisture level and overall health of my skin is greatly improved. My skin feels smoother and looks more luminous, the fine wrinkles and crinkles caused by dehydration have vanished, and the redness caused by my skin having been so dry and stressed is a thing of the past. Has this ultra hydrating serum eliminated my expression lines or cured my mild rosacea? Of course not! I’m 71 after all, but it certainly has gone a very long way towards restoring the health of my skin. As far as I’m concerned, well-hydrated, smooth, even toned skin is beautiful skin and Tatcha’s latest serum really delivers.

Hi Eileen, thank you as always for your very insightful and helpful comments! I actually pair it with a facial oil on nights when I really need someething or when I am up super late watching shows. On its own, it already is amazing at plumping up my skin, so imagine pairing it with say their Indigo cream! Btw, I found their Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery cream helped when I get eczema on my face…. does it not help with your rosacea?

      • Eileen says:

Yes, Triple Recovery does help with my rosacea. Although it is not a rosacea medication per se, daily use calms and protects my skin overall so that it is better able to deal with the conditions that cause my mild flare ups. On its own, though, Triple Recovery is not moisturizing enough to combat my aging skin’s dryness. That’s where Overnight Memory has become indispensable to me. It infuses my skin with an abundance of moisture which eliminates the stress caused by dehydration and then Triple Recovery seals the restorative moisture in with a protective, nurturing barrier. For my particular skin, it is a wonderful combination.

  3. Both of these products sound amazing! I’ve really been wanting to try out the brand because everyone says it’s amazing. And you’re right, the packaging is so beautiful!
