It is a beauty lover’s dream come true to come home to a surprise package from one of your most beloved brands. And it’s a generous one at that, comprising of some of the best from SUQQU Fall 2016 makeup collection. Once highly elusive with very limited new releases each season, SUQQU has been making strides in expanding its product range, and this season is looking to be a bumper crop. I would like to take the time to show you all the beautiful pieces that I have over the next few days, starting with the item that is most likely to be soldout first!
From experience, SUQQU’s eyeshadow palettes tend to sell out fairly quickly, and this latest Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-32 Rengazome will be no exception. It is an exceptional palette not only because it boasts the best quality as we would expect from SUQQU, but also the bold color combination breaks from the usual understated classy hues that have made the brand so well loved. I am loving reds this season, and was curious to see how Rengazome would compare with Chanel’s Candeur et Experience [reviewed here].
SUQQU Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-32 Rengazome comprises of a red and brown duo that could have pulled quite warm, but instead SUQQU has chosen to take it in a cooler, more neutral-toned direction which is much more friendly on Asian skin tones. A light shimmery pink-beige seems like a “safe” expected companion shade in a palette like this, but in an interesting twist, SUQQU has added a shimmering khaki taupe that expands the usability of Rengazome from an edgy occasion palette to everyday wearable palette of choice!
I wanted to take a moment to show you the very cool pattern embossed on the dark brown shade on the palette, and replicated on the outside cover of the case. It reminds me of desert soil that has cracked from being baked under the ceaseless sun. Very cool and apt for a palette like this, but it goes away with a couple of uses.
The shades as swatched from top to bottom are:
All the shades are wonderfully pigmented, a gentle dab of that chocolate brown created the perfect smokey wings, and that terracotta red pops with just 1 pat of the brush! The textures are so smooth, and in particular the shimmery beige was drop dead creamy. It is very close to my nature skin color though so it provides just a subtle pop of highlight that is not too brazen. It works well as an inner corner highlight and equally lovely layered on top or under any of the other shades for added complexity in that classic SUQQU multi-dimensional micro-shimmer way.
Here is an eye look featuring all 4 shades of EX-32 Rengazome:
For this eye look, I started with the dark chocolate brown on the outer third of my lid, followed by patting the terracotta red onto the center. Next, I added the khaki taupe to the inner third of my lid and used it to blend out the chocolate brown in the crease. Lastly, I popped a bit of the pink-beige on the inner corner. Finished by lining my lower lash line with the chocolate brown, and some mascara.
I’m always curious how makeup looks different when photographed in part versus in full… and the red in Rengazome really looks very pretty… even though the placement I used here is very similar to Candour et Experience, it is cooler in tone and more berry hued.
In the makeup look above I was wearing the new SUQQU Extra Rich Cream Foundation with Treatment Primer on face; Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-32 on eyes; Pure Color Blush 01 on cheeks; and Creamy Glow Lipstick EX-02 on lips. I will be reviewing everything soon in the coming days so stay tuned!
Here is another look at both Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-32 featuring that gorgeous khaki taupe…
And a close up on the eye makeup…
This is a completely different way of wearing EX-32 Rengazome, one which I would wear every single day of my life. It features the khaki taupe on most parts of the lid, dark chocolate brown on the outer third, pink-beige on the inner corner and layered on top of the khaki on the center of the lid.
I can’t begin to elucidate how much I am in love with both SUQQU Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-32 Rengazome. This is the 2nd time in recent memory that I’ve found similar color stories between SUQQU and other high end brands, and when I go from 1 to the other, I have been amazed by how much smoother and easier SUQQU eyeshadows apply. SUQQU Fall 2016 collection has just been released in Japan, and slated to be launched at Selfridges on 11 August.
