Shiseido has really been pulling out all the stops lately, and I recently received a press drop that I just can’t wait to share with you! The first thing that caught my eye was this new Shiseido Synchro Skin White Cushion Compact. I have been loving every single new foundation from the Synchro Skin range so far, and was excited to see how Shiseido can further improve a cushion that I already love so much.
I’ve been sick as a dog ever since I got back from China last week, and there is so much on my mind with regards to work, so I will try to keep this post as succinct as possible. Similar to its predecessor [reviewed here], the new Shiseido Synchro Skin White Cushion Compact is able to adapt to the skin’s changing condition throughout the day, to ensure perfect tone and hydration levels all day. It comes in the same rounded case with an art-deco motif of a camellia flower set slightly askew on the top cover; the only visible difference is the white/grey design (as opposed to the black/white one of the original cushion).
Unseen to the eye, the new White Cushion Compact contains Shiseido’s proprietary brightening skincare complex 4MSK, wild thyme extract which is an antioxidant and also a much higher SPF protective rating of SPF40/PA+++ (as compared to SPF23 / PA++). Full list of ingredients may be found here.
The texture of the new Synchro Skin White Cushion is just as wonderfully light as its predecessor, and it feels virtually weightless and remains perfectly comfortable all day. Coverage is just as good, though I found it tends to sheer out more than the original Synchro Skin Cushion. The biggest difference is that the new White Cushion has a distinctly pink undertone, which gives a brightening lift to the skin, but may be problematic for those of you like me have already substantial pink tones naturally.
As always, I have included a half-faced before and after shot that you can zoom in to see the difference. The Shiseido Synchro Skin White Cushion provides a lovely pore-blurring veil, and gives my face a healthy glow. There are some mild pinkish spots where the cushion was unable to completely eradicate, and a concealer will be needed.
Shiseido Synchro Skin White Cushion Compact is a lovely choice for those who found the original cushions too yellow-toned, and have been seeking a better shade match. Of course the higher SPF protection and inclusion of some skincare properties make the new White Cushion quite appealing indeed. This is out at Shiseido counters now, do pop by and check it out!
