Shiseido Spring 2015 Makeup Collection

February 3, 2015

Shiseido is upping its game with several reformulations and new product launches this year! It started with the release of the Dramatic Melting Rouge under Shiseido’s Maquillage line last November, and this Spring 2015 it is releasing a whole new range of lipsticks – the Shiseido Veiled Rouge.

Shiseido Veiled Rouge is a new range of lipsticks from Shiseido in everyday-wearable hues and textures. It features a new pearl technology that gives a soft, diffused shine finish to the lipstick; in a veiling oil formula that spreads easily and adheres to the lips to keep lips hydrated and ensures the color stays throughout the day. It is available in 12 new shades, 4 of which are limited edition and exclusive to Asia. There is a good range of color despite the initial limited number (more will be gradually released with the coming seasons), but most of them are soft and sheer with a touch of shine to give that my-lips-but-better look. I have 2 very lovely shades to show you:

Even though the shades that I have here are softer, there are also a couple of vivid reds and plums for those needing a bit more drama.  Compared to Shiseido’s Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge, these Shiseido Veiled Rouge feel creamier and have a more pearlescent shine to them.  I did find them slightly sheer, and needed 2-3 swipes to get a more even coverage, but they did wear off evenly. Even with constant sips of water and coffee, they lasted about 6 hours on me which is surprisingly long for such a creamy formula!

Of course, no makeup collection will be complete with something for the eyes as well. And this season, Shiseido has prepared 4 new Shimmering Cream Eye Color.  I received 2 shades in PK224 Mousseline (pictured left) and GR125 Naiad (pictured right).

Shiseido’s Shimmering Cream Eye Colors are amazing as they are so fuss-free, stay put all day and do not crease nor fade! My dry lids love them as they feel comforting on, and just look elegant without trying too hard. PK224 Mousseline is a warm-toned peach pink with slight delicate shimmers that really matches my Asian skin tone perfectly to create that luminous color whereas most other peaches / corals / pinks make my lids look swollen; and GR125 Naiad is a delicate green-pewter shade that is so airy it feels like froth upon the waves. I tried to recreate the look that Dick Page had designed and is used on the marketing collaterals for this collection:

In addition to these color choices, Shiseido will also be releasing a couple of base products which I will introduce in a separate review very soon. I’m really loving this Spring 2015 collection from Shiseido as it is understated and elegant, I feel like wearing them every.single.day! After all the heavy eye look from almost every other house this season, Shiseido’s rendition feels fresh and feels spring! Here is a casual Sunday look I wore to picnic at the park with my family last weekend! Yes, dorky ponytail included!

Hi Jan, so happy to see you love Shiseido cream shadows! I’ve only recently explored them, and yes, they are marvelous!

Ooh that green looks so lovely! Quite unusual too. I don’t usually go for greens but this looks really pretty and wearable.

Woo. The lipsticks didn’t look like it has shimmer at all when in the tube. Does the formula crack the lips?

    • silverkis says:

Yes there is some hidden iridescence in the lippies! No, they don’t crack the lips at all! In fact, I found them very hydrating!

  4. That green one looks so lovely on you, mixed with the salmon. I think both of these shades wouldn’t match my undertones though. Lipsticks are very pretty on your lips, looks like a nice collection. I haven’t purchased from Shiseido seasonal collections for years but I may check it out this year.

Hey Sara, yeah, Shiseido does make colors with the typical Asian in mind, sometimes i find their bases too yellow even for me. But there’s always something for everybody, and i’m glad you went for the lilac one!

You created a beautiful look, Linda 🙂
I didn’t love the Veiled Rouge as much as I liked the Dramatic Melting Rouge, but I think the DMR I just particularly love one of the shades. Havent picked up any of eyeshadow creams yet, but am very tempted to now!

Thank you so much, Noodles! :*
I think the 2 formulas are quite similar, DMR certainly looks sexier packaging wise, but I found VR more creamy whilst DMR has a lot more slip in it. The eyeshadows are DIVINE!!! Go check them out!!!
