I love powders, especially the light-as-air kind that is easy to wear. And this Fall, I’m loving the new Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Compact Foundation!
The Sheer and Perfect Compact Foundation is housed in a thin refillable compact in the shape of Shiseido’s signature camellia. The top is shiny black with Shiseido printed at one edge, and the bottom is matte beige. Very mod, retro chic, I love it.
The powder itself is very finely milled, and felt smooth and silky to the touch. On the skin, it is airy light, and no matter how I tried to pile it on, it never looks cakey. In terms of coverage, it is sheer, but there is an overall brightening effect and cancels out redness effectively. This is due to Shiseido’s “Glow Up” and “Reflect and Fit” polymers which render a soft natural glow, and cancels color noise respectively.
I took it for a test run, and began by applying Shiseido’s Maquillage Perfect Multi Base BB which is a very sheer base that helps minimize pores (and so I don’t scare the living daylights out of you). Thereafter, I applied Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Compact Foundation on the right half of my face, and left the other half without for comparison. As the light was coming from my left, that part of the face seems more lit up whilst the right half seems darker, so please do not mistake the foundation as being dull. In reality, the compact foundation minimized my pores even more, mattified excess shine, and evened out my skin tone. Even though it is sheer in terms of coverage, it did brighten up my under eye, making it appear less dark.
I have been wearing Shiseido Sheer and Perfect Compact Foundation as a setting powder and for touch ups over the past month. It is really lovely to use, and never dried out my skin even when it was dehydrated from my trip to Bangkok. It comes with a thin sponge which is kept lying directly on top of the powder, making it convenient for touch ups on the go.
Agreed with Lily, you have amazing skin to begin with! This sounds really great, esp if it still worked well after your trip.
Hi Noodles, i really can’t profess to have great skin. I’ve always had very sensitive skin that is prone to eczema. Thankfully, my mom taught me at a very young age to take care of my skin, so i’ve escaped most of the acne scaring and pitmarks from adolescence.
Erm, Linda, I don’t see any difference before / after. Your skin is flawless 😀
Oh no… i need to include close-up patch comparisons then!!
