Shiseido’s Perfect Cleansing Oil

October 11, 2014

Hello!  It has been an incredibly long week for me… craziness at work… and I wished I had more time to sit and just write about beauty stuff… le sigh.  But it is the weekend, and I really wanted to share this little bottle of goodness that i’ve been enjoying for the past month!

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil

Shiseido has had a cleansing oil in the past which has long been discontinued, but it has been a long time since they’ve had another one in their skincare arsenal.  And i’ve been a fan of cleansing oils for many years now, preferring them over balms and creams for removing my daily makeup.  So I was really stoked to try out the new Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil!

First of all, it comes in a simple but elegant white plastic bottle with a pump dispenser.  Something we take for granted, but let me reinforce the point that when you are dealing with oil, the less you need to touch the packaging the better.  The product itself is a lovely lightweight oil, certainly lighter and less viscous compared to my previous HG SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil.  It has a pleasant light floral scent that is neither overpowering nor too cloyingly sweet.

I usually take 1 pump on my palm, and then gently massage it all over my dry face.  Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil goes to work immediately, dissolving makeup and dirt, I also like to take 1 pump for my neck.  Thereafter, I rinse off with warm water.  I don’t find the need to scrub or rub off with a wash cloth which may aggravate my sensitive skin.  Instead, it rinses off easily without leaving any oily residue.  When I follow up with a toner afterwards, my cotton pad wipes off clean without a trace of makeup or dirt.  My skin also feels very comfortable, without the tight or oily sensation that often accompanies a thorough cleanse.  I’ve even used it on waterproof mascara and heavy eyeshadow, and it does the job beautifully without irritating my eyes.

Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil retails for SGD41 (approximately USD32) for 180ml, which is really affordable.  If you have never tried a cleansing oil before, I would encourage you to pick this one up, you won’t regret it!  This is one of the fastest and gentlest way to remove your makeup (yes even heavy makeup!), and does not dry out your skin nor does it cause breakouts (well at least in the case of this Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil it didn’t!).
