Rock the New Year’s Party this year with Rouge Bunny Rouge’s Birdwing Beauteous

December 28, 2016

Planning the perfect makeup look for that New Year’s Eve party?  Rouge Bunny Rouge has the perfect all-in-1 makeup item that will ensure all eyes are on you when the ball drops, AND open up those sleepy peepers for New Year’s Day brunch with the next day!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Birdwing Beauteous

The magical elves from the enchanted garden of Rouge Bunny Rouge sometimes come up with these brilliant products that leave me wanting more.  When I first experienced the Silk Aether Long-Lasting Duo Cream Eye Shadow in Gossamer Wing [see here] a year ago, I thought it was a brilliant and super easy way to achive an easy, elegant eye look.  And when I saw they had released a brand new Birdwing Beauteous fit for a Rebel Princess in time for the year-end festivities, I thought it was the most natural thing in the world.

Rouge Bunny Rouge’s Silk Aether Long-Lasting Duo Cream Eye Shadow is a pen-like tube that contains 2 shades of eye shadows on either end.  Although termed “cream”, these are more fluid in nature, and have a mousse-like texture that stays moveable for a good minute before setting.  Once they are dried, they stay on without budging, creasing, nor fading until removed with an eye makeup remover.  The shades in Birdwing Beauteous are:

Both the shades may be used alone – as intensely as they come straight out of the tube, or blended out for a sheer wash of colour.  They may also be used as a base over which to pack other powdered eye shadows for even greater impact.

For this eye look, I used the gunmetal black as a base.  I first took a tiny pearl sized on the back of my hand, then using a finger to pick up just a teeny tiny bit, I dabbed it along my lash line, working up towards the crease.  These tend to take some time to dry and settle if you apply too thickly, and sheer out too much if applied with a brush, which is why I recommend tapping tiny amounts using a finger.  When it has fully dried, I buffed some When Bird Are Singing Long-Lasting Eye Shadow in Trumpeter Koel over and blended into the crease, and patted some Umber Firefince in the center of the lid.  I lined both upper and lower lash lines with a black pencil, and using a small liner brush, worked in some of the gunmetal black from Birdwing Beauteous along the lash line.  To finish, I added a tiny dash of the pale iridescent champagne gold on my inner corner.

Here is the full makeup look in context:

For the day look, I quite simply applied the pale iridescent gold from Birdwing Beauteous all across my lid and blended out using a finger.  Thereafter, I buffed some When Bird Are Singing Long-Lasting Eye Shadow in Unforgettable Oriole over, concentrating on the center of the lid for added shine.  Used some black liquid liner along the upper lash line to finish.
