#RightColourMatters! Getting My Bespoke Hair Colour at Chez Vous

May 26, 2018

Have you ever admired the latest hair colour trend, and wondered if it will work out for you?  Or picked a hair colour only to regret afterwards?  I’ve done it all, especially in the past couple of years with the pink hair and galaxy hair rages… and realized that at the end of the day, my hair colour not only has to suit my lifestyle (i.e. uphold a full-time “proper” professional image) it also has to actually flatter my skin tone!

Since coming to Chez Vous, I’ve been incredibly blessed to be taken care of by the professional team here.  Sometimes I think the Chez Vous guys care more about the health of my hair than I do myself.  So much so that I just let my stylist pick the colour for me, and am always 100% satisfied by the results.  Now, to translate art to science, Chez Vous has designed a #RightColourMatters Diagnosis to help us understand our actual skin undertone, and find a colour family to bring out our best facial features!

Through a quick and simple process of holding up different coloured boards to bounce the light back on the face, it is immediately obvious which colour tones work best for me.  I’ve always known that I have a cool pink-based undertone, but it is still interesting to see what a big difference it makes.  A warm yellow colour completely drowned my face and turned me sallow.  I was gratified to see what I had always known intuitively – that too much pink actually overwhelms me and makes me look unnatural.  This last point is worth belabouring because I often get “advice” from BAs telling me to pick pink-based makeup to match my pink-toned skin (and vice versa – that as a “yellow”-toned Asian I should automatically go for yellow-based foundations).  This is obviously untrue, and it helps to get diagnosed properly!

The 2 blue-toned hues actually flatter me best, and I personally prefer the more true blue tone as it gives my skin a more even, balanced look.  The other slightly green-blue tone would work nicely if I am feeling more tired and/or work on a more matured lady who needs more brightening up.

So what does it mean if a cool blue light suits me best?  I was mentally prepared at this point to go home with blue hair, but of course the Chez Vous guys were able to translate that blue tone into a practical hair colour that I could wear proudly in my daily life!

Et Voila!!  Surprised?  I definitely was, and I remember asking incredulously how they managed to pull a red-tinged brown off when I was clearly matched to a cool blue.  It is almost magic, but by incorporating some blue to cool down the overall dye, they managed to make it work.  And I don’t know about you, but I love my hair colour!

Don’t take my word for it, try it out for yourself!  Chez Vous is offering a #RightColourMatters launch special – enjoy a professional cut to flatter your face shape, a personalised #RightColourMatters diagnosis, and a 3D colour and highlights or balayage from SGD299 (SGD399 for longer lengths).  Also, receive 1x Goldwell BondPro+ Hairshots worth SGD55 and 1x Express Revitalising Supreme Treatment (reviewed here) worth SGD205 for FREE!  Chez Vous is located at #05-05 Ngee Ann City Podium in Singapore, call 6732 9388 for further enquiries (and tell them silverkis sent you!) – completely unaffiliated, just saying!
