When I was younger, I used to think it rather profligate to indulge in luxury bodycare products when drugstore performs well enough. Of course that’s like preaching to the choir, and for a beauty junkie, good bodycare is a natural extension of skincare. Having invested so much to ensure my face is in tip-top condition, I was recently made aware of how much I have neglected my neck. Similarly, the hands are usually the first (and probably only) part of the body that others would be in contact with, making handcare equally important. And so I went on a self-discovery journey, and uncovered the difference it can make, with Radical Skincare’s Firming Neck & Decollete Gel, Firming Body Multi-Repair, and Hand and Nail Multi-Repair.
Radical Skincare was founded by 2 sisters – Liz and Rachel Edlich, who were exploring effective anti-aging skincare for their own sensitive skin. Rachel was suffering from rosacea at that time and it cleared up after using their own products. The products proved to be so successful that they went from merely producing for friends and family, to retailing it in over 800 stores in 15 countries in less than 3 years.
At the heart of Radical Skincare’s products is the proprietary TrylacelTM technology, which suspends and preserves the potency of a cocktail of antioxidants, repairing anti-aging actives, and skin-soothing ingredients. These are encapsulated in a structure that resembles skin’s cellular membranes, fusing and effectively delivering the active ingredients right to the heart of the cells where they can be useful.
I had the chance to try out the Radical Skincare range recently, but rather than overwhelming you with the complete anthology today, I thought I’d focus on the new body lotion and hand cream, and I also thought I’d add in the neck gel since these are the 3 areas I tend to overlook!
Radical Skincare Hand & Nail Multi-Repair
A good hand cream has been an indispensable part of my life for the past few months as my fingers and palms have grown to be very dry, itchy and peeling. I used to think that hand creams are all the same, and it is only very recently that I have come to appreciate a well-formulated one. At a very basic level, a good hand cream should have a light, silky texture and be quickly absorbed so as not to leave an oily / sticky residue that will get all over whatever we touch. But more than that, since I am constantly washing my hands and in contact with detergent before and after changing diapers, washing bottles, making milk and cooking, etc; I need my hand creams to be easy to remove so I don’t have to use more soap (or even harsher than necessary). And of course, I need a good healing hand cream that actually protects and soothes my poor skin!
Radical Skincare’s Hand & Nail Repair excelled and surpassed all of my expectations. It is a lightweight cream that feels silky to the touch, is significant enough to be massaged into the spots that require more TLC, yet does not leave any residue on my hands. I am one of those people who likes to apply hand cream whilst driving, and this is a pure joy to use because it isn’t so runny it gets everywhere, and it does not leave my steering wheel and gear shift sticky and yucky.
As with most good hand creams, this Radical Skincare Hand & Nail Multi-Repair contains shea butter to soothe and moisturise. But more than that, it contains hexylresorcinol which is able to lighten dark spots, and raspberry extract which contains ellagic acid known to prevent the formation of new dark spots. Allantoin is an effective anti-irritant and skin protectant that promotes healing. Hyaluronic acid recreates the hydrolipidic film of the skin and boosts barrier function, further protecting the hands from turning too dry. An interesting cocktail of anti-aging ingredients is also present – coffee, tea, niacinamide, vitamin C and superoxide dismutase, all work to stimulate collagen synthesis and protect against free-radical damage. Myrrh extract also strengthens nails and softens cuticles.
Radical Skincare Firming Body Multi-Repair
My body is currently going through its annual freakout… every year around this time I get a major eczema flare-up, I’m just grateful that this year my face has been spared *knock on wood!*. And when this happens, a good body moisturiser suddenly becomes a daily essential.
Similar to the Hand & Nail Multi-Repair, this Firming Body Multi-Repair also boasts a silky cream texture. It feels slightly richer, with slightly less slip to it, but all the better for nourishing skin. At the same time, it does not feel heavy unlike traditional body creams, and I can get dressed right after applying this without fear of it smearing all over my clothes.
Radical Skincare’s Firming Body Multi-Repair contains all the lovely skin-pampering ingredients like shea butter, macadamia seed oil, and desert date palm oil (banalities roxburghii seed oil). But apart from protecting the skin and nourishing it, this body cream is also specially formulated to help reduce cellulite and refine contours!! Now, I don’t claim to be a spring chicken anymore, and post-pregnancy, I need all the help I can get. Sure, I’m constantly stocked up on contouring and slimming creams, but I hardly ever remember or have the time to add another layer of massaging after a gazillion steps for my face. So it is incredibly thoughtful to have this integrated into my regular body moisturiser! What is even more impressive is, Radical Skincare has gone all out with ingredients like centella asiatica, asiaticoside, and horse chestnut seed extract to help the body drain toxins, strengthen collagen and elastin fibres, and thereby reduce the appearances of cellulite and refines body contours.
Similar to the Hand & Nail Multi-Repair, this Firming Body Multi-Repair also contains Radical Skincare’s signature anti-aging cocktail of coffee, tea, nicacinamide, vitamin C, and superoxide dismutase. It also has seaweed extract (dictyopteris membranacea) which prevents the formation of dark spots, particularly useful on the parts of the body that are exposed to sun!
Radical Skincare Firming Neck & Decollete Gel
My neck is the most overlooked part of my body, and I’ve recently been made aware of just how far I had allowed things to slip by. Of course, my excuse so far as been that my neck sweats the most and is the most prone to eczema flare-ups. Most creams that I’ve tried to apply on my neck in the past have just seemed to “melt” when I sweat, and irritate my skin causing more eczema.
So, for my needs, the gel-like fluid texture of Radical Skincare’s Firming Neck & Decollete Gel is particularly helpful. It is much lighter than creams and lotions, and it absorbs right away without leaving any sticky or heavy residuals on my skin. I don’t even feel like I need to wash my hands after application, which counts for a lot.
Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice is high up on the ingredients list and it is a popular choice for those suffering from irritated skin as it has soothing properties and helps to reduce redness. Grapefruit extract has antiaging properties, brightens and controls the production of melanin. Sepilift (dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline) has a “triple firming” action that moisturises the skin and tightens collagen fibres for a more lifted appearance. The inclusion of retinol also helps regulate the texture of the skin, stimulating new skin cell formation and improve skin elasticity. I could go on discussing the merits of each of the ingredients, but sometimes the ends justify the means – after my very first night applying this gel onto my neck, I woke up with noticeably smoother skin on my neck! The lines appear less deep, and the entire neck is much brighter and even-toned. Ever since that first night, I’ve been hooked and even when I’m dashing out of the house in the morning, I would stop to just slather this on. Of course, it is more effective when massaged with successive upwards motions, but even just slapped on, it keeps my neck hydrated throughout the day and soothes any irritation.
Conclusion
I should note here that the Firming Neck & Decollete Gel is not a new product, and has been around for a couple of years together with the rest of the facial skincare collection. However, I’ve included it in with today’s discussion on the newly released Hand & Nail Multi-Repair and Firming Body Multi-Repair because I think these are all parts of the body that we (*I*) tend to overlook. And Radical Skincare’s offerings are so appealing that I now look forward to pampering those parts of my body!
I’ve been loving the Hand & Nail Multi-Repair so much that it’s gone everywhere with me – from home to office, supermarket and back. One night I thought I lost it, and suffered a major freaked out. And you can see how the letterings on both that and the Firming Body Multi-Repair are getting worn off from being so well-loved! I’m glad the Neck & Decollete Gel comes in a double-walled plastic bottle with a twist-up cap so the print is better preserved because that is very much loved as well!

I’m so intrigued about the hand cream! The condition of my hands is slowly improving since my move back from the States. Right now I don’t need thick hand creams like I used to anymore so this one sounds like a good option! I’ll look for it and will probably buy it if I like the texture enough. I’m all for hand creams that are light and don’t leave any greasy residue on everything I touch! 😀
Hi Jaa, that hand cream is really a saviour for me! Do check it out if you can find it! I hate hand creams that leave everything greasy in its wake
I love a good hand cream. I find my hands are constantly dry due to handwashing, climate, air cons etc. I’ve not really thought about using a dedicated neck & décolletage cream as I apply all my skin care down to my bustline so haven’t felt the need to invest in specific product. Oh, and I always, always apply any leftover residue from serums/toners/creams to the backs of my hands each night as a little extra care for my hands xx

yes i used to just apply my usual skincare on my neck, but it doesn’t seem to do anything at all. I’ve been told the skin is different on the neck and face…. but i suspect brands will tell you anything to sell you a product. ;P Which is why i was so happy to see this really did make a difference!
