Happy hump-day! This supposed mini-series on hydrating skincare seems to be taking forever to complete… I started this series 2 weeks ago [here] with the intention of wrapping it up within a week, but work and life got in the way. There are just a couple more to go, and today I’d like to introduce a trio poetically named – Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Collection.
Peter Thomas Roth is a brand that I’ve only dabbled with briefly prior to this, and I am now kicking myself for not having tried more before. The latest Water Drench Collection is targeted at those with dry-dehydrated skin, and aims to help skin maintain its natural moisture level through the inclusion of hyaluronic acid. There are 4 pieces in this collection, and I’ve been using 3 of them religiously over the past month.
My favourite is probably the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser. It seems rather counter-intuitive to be picking the most “basic” item in a line to fall in love with, but this is no ordinary cleanser! For most of my life, I’ve been practicing a double cleansing routine in the evenings, mainly to ensure I completely remove all traces of makeup and dirt at the end of the day, and also because I generally dislike any lingering traces of makeup remover. There are very very few cleansers that manage to perform double-duty to my satisfaction, and PTR Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser is one of these elite few. It is a foaming cleanser that emulsifies when massaged and foams up when water is added. After rinsing off with water, and my skin feels clean and smooth without any sense of tightness or dryness. It is perfectly proficient at removing all my thousand-layers of makeup, even eyeshadow, except for waterproof mascara. The ingredients are as follows:
I love eye patches as they are a fuss-free way to soothe away the day’s woes. Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches come in a jar of 60 patches, and are incredibly addictive. These hydra-gel patches adhere well to my face without slipping off, though the shape does not seem to fit my undereye area perfectly. They carry the signature PTR Water Drench cocktail of hyaluronic acid and marshmallow root extract to hydrate and soften skin. Caffeine is added to reduce the appearance of eyebags, and amica to diminish dark circles.
The hero product of this range is probably the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. As poetic as the name sounds, this cream is truly light as a fluffy cloud, and drenches the skin in moisture. The texture is a very airy whipped soufflé, yet it contains 30% hyaluronic acid. Ceramides help lock in moisture while anti-oxidant-rich elderberry helps counter pre-mature aging. Water-soluble form of silk proteins leave skin with a silky smooth texture. I love that this wears well under makeup without pilling nor feeling heavy, and yet it keeps my skin perfectly hydrated throughout the day. Here are the ingredients:
I’m sorry I don’t have more photography to accompany this post, because I’m finding myself increasingly strapped for resources lately. I hope this does not give you the impression that I like this Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench range any less than the others. In fact, as the weather gets warmer, this is perhaps my most preferred range! The cleanser is something that I’ve been bringing with me on my last 2 overseas trips, and I cannot rave about it more.
