Origins is well-known and beloved for its diversified range of affordable skincare. And now to charm us even more, Origins has officially launched its foray into colour makeup with two new lipstick collections – Origins Blooming Bold Lipstick and Origins Blooming Sheer Lip Balm!
The packaging is pretty to behold, and has a good luxurious heft as well. Everything from the rose swirls to the bronzed metallic casing and the firm click closure is thoughtfully designed for the discerning consumer. The formulas boast of nourishing flower waxes that coats and protects the lips from dehydration, and give the lipsticks a buttery creamy-smooth texture. Each tube contains the power of 12 flowers, incorporating ingredients from seed to stem including skin softening oils and petal perfected scents.
There are 18 shades of Origins Blooming Bold Lipstick, each boasting intense pigmentation that completely coats the lips in a single swipe. The naturally-derived moisturizing formula also keeps lips hydrated for six full hours thanks in part to the inclusion of cruelty-free wildflower and lavender honey. These lipsticks have a satin matte finish and last about 6 hours on my lips. They do not stain cups and utensils quite as much as I’d expect for such a creamy formula, but they do wear off with eating and drinking.
I received 6 shades for testing, below are some lip swatches to give you an idea how they look:
Tinted balms were all the rage last year, and Origins has put its own gorgeous spin on it with the Origins Blooming Sheer Lip Balm. These contain the same flower waxes, honeys & essential oils to hydrate and condition lips all day long. There is just a hint of colour to give lips that fresh-kissed look, which is great for a relaxed day out or mid-day lip refresh at the office.
There are 8 shades available, and I have just 3 of them. These Blooming Sheer Lip Balms are much slicker than the Blooming Bold Lipsticks, and feel very nourishing on the lips. I like that they are not heavy nor oily, and actually do repair my easily chapped lips. The colours are very sheer and barely there, so much so that they feel interchangeable to me.
Origins Blooming Bold Lipsticks and Blooming Sheer Lip Balms retail for SGD33 each, and are out in counters already. Have you seen them yet?
