It’s barely February and already I’m dreaming of vacaayy…. Endless blue ocean stretching into the horizon, sipping mohjitos by the poolside… and watching the sunset into the horizon and that burst of red in the sky shortly after the sun disappears entirely. Yes, that’s exactly the picture that comes to mind when I see NARS’ latest duo China Seas.
Left side of the duo is an iridescent medium turquoise with a frosted finish. It is quite pigmented but can be sheered out with a bit more work. With these sorts of bright frosted shades, I sometimes find that they go on a little patchy, but I did not have much problems with this. It lasted me a good 8 hours before I started seeing some fading around my cheeky hidden eye-folds, which probably could be prevented by a primer.
Right side of the duo is a medium-dark eggplant with a warm base that sheers out around the edges with some brown tinges. It has some pink shimmer and has a frosted finish. This actually applies quite nicely, and is consistent in texture with the left side turquoise shade. It also lasted me well into the 8th hour and counting. However, I did experience some fallout with the shimmers, so a good primer is a must.
NARS China Seas is a Spring 2014 release and will be permanent. It retails at SGD50 for 4gm of product. Both shades are nicely pigmented, and have decent textures (nice for NARS!). Though planning for a vacation on tiger airways is making my blood boil, just looking at this makes me feel blissed out again.
