I hadn’t done a straightforward nail post here on the blog in a while, and I thought it might be a nice change of pace. Marc Jacobs Beauty released a capsule collection straight off their A/W2017 fashion runway show recently, and there are 2 new limited edition Hi-shine Nail Lacquers that I’d like to show you today.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Trax is a luscious burgundy that is inspired by Marc’s favourite track pants. It has the perfect balance between red and purple, and a deepness to the hue that makes is reminiscent of velvety drapes and intimate boudoirs. Trax has a beautiful cream finish and is fully opaque in 2 coats.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Ladies Night is a medium fawn beige which has a timeless elegance in my mind. The hue is just slightly warm in the undertone, but it works on my hands without turning me too yellow. Some beiges are too pale and difficult to pull off, so I am glad that Ladies Night wears beautifully on me… it has that magical ability to elongate my fingers and make them appear fairer!
It has been a long while since I last tried on these Hi-Shine Nail Lacquers from Marc Jacobs Beauty, and it took me some fiddling to get the cap off. The brush feels shorter in comparison to other designer peers, but it gives better control for those who are new to applying nail polish on their own. The formula is smooth and self-levelling, and lasts a good 3 days before showing minor tip wear and did not chip until removed.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer is available at Sephora outlets.
