Laura Mercier presents a refreshingly different collection for Holiday 2020 with the Ballet à Paris collection. Inspired by the elegance of ballet, the collection feels feminine and graceful. I have a few pieces from the collection and would love to show them to you.
It has been many years since I experimented with Laura Mercier’s eyeshadow palettes, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the Prima Ballerina Mini Eyeshadow Palette. The palm-sized palette is a Sephora exclusive, and comprises of 6 new shades that pack more punch than they appear.
Laura Mercier does not disappoint with buttery soft textures all around, especially with the matte shade. What excited me were the bold metallic and shimmery eyeshadows contained in Prima Ballerina. Here are the swatches:
For the cheeks, Laura Mercier present a blusher, highlighter and bronzer trio named Opening Night. The pans are individually generously sized, and bear a criss-cross grosgrain ribbon motif embossing. Given the eyeshadow palette above was generally pink-based, I was actually quite surprised by the warmer tones in Opening Night. Here are the swatches:
All 3 shades are nicely pigmented for their purposes, and overall they warm up the complexion nicely, especially since we’ve all been spending all year cooped up in our homes.
I have not had the chance to try out Laura Mercier’s new Pure Canvas Primer since they launched earlier this year, so I was stoked to receive this limited edition gift set featuring 3 of their most popular primers. Each of them is nicely sized to last a decent time, and I like the idea that you can use different ones for various zones on the face. For example, I have dry cheeks and forehead so the hydrating one would be perfect, while I can definitely benefit from some blurring on my nose and chin.
The entire collection comes dressed in limited edition packaging featuring pale pink and grosgrain ribbon detailing. In addition to the pieces shown here today, there are quite a bit more to check out, including a lip lumiere trio, setting powder in limited edition packaging, and more gift sets. Do take a look for yourself if you can!
