Hello friends!! I am so absolutely delighted today to unveil a brand new look to Silverkis’ World!! This has been on my mind for a while now as I was getting bored with the old format, but I was worried about downtime and just let things be for as long as I could. Then yesterday I just decided to pull the trigger, and I sincerely hope you love this new look as much as I do. If you encounter any bugs along the way, please let me know so I can fix it!
And to celebrate this happy occasion, I want to introduce you to something equally beautiful and luxurious feeling… La Mer The Perfecting Treatment!
There seems to be plenty of confusion going on about what La Mer’s latest release really is, and to confound us further, La Mer has coined this the “ultimate complexion treatment”. Of course, if you have been following this blog for awhile, you’d be no stranger to products that cross the skincare/makeup divide such as this. Coming from the ultimate luxury skincare experts, we of course expect a host of skin-loving ingredients.
La Mer The Perfecting Treatment features 2 new ferments to help improve skin tone, texture and translucency. A Refining Ferment consisting of sea-sourced actives helps to strengthen skin and minimize the look of pores, while boosting skin’s natural collagen production. The Lucent Ferment comprises of Porcelain Algae and deep sea Rose Algae to create an even skin tone, and reduce dark spots for greater translucency. I have included a full list of ingredients below for your reference.
Sesame Seed Oil, Alfalfa Seed Powder, and Sunflower Seedcake has skin softening properties. There are also many ingredients that help in antiaging – Helichrysum Arenarium Extract stimulates new cell growth and promotes healing; Laminara Digitata Extract is a good antioxidant; and Gentian Root Extract helps to fight inflammaging. Niacin is an effective skin-lightening agent and promotes healthy cellular activity and cell turnover. Mulberry Extract prevents excess melanin production and helps reduce new melanin formation in skin. Magnolia Bark Extract also reduces redness, improves hydration and elasticity of the skin.
Despite all the beneficial ingredients, at the very top of the list are a bunch of silicones which is more typical of a makeup primer. These all work together to give a pore-blurring, skin-smoothening effect. Furthermore, they help to keep moisture in and prevent moisture loss.
And as you would expect of a product that is high on silicones and with substantial plant-oils, the texture is superbly silky and fast absorbing. La Mer The Perfecting Treatment is imperceptibly lightweight, feels like skin, and lends a finishing touch to skin by erasing the look of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It can be used as a last step to your skincare, before makeup as a primer to create a smooth canvas. For those with drier skin, La Mer recommends applying The Perfecting Treatment before your moisturizer for a more luminous look. I have found The Perfecting Treatment to really help my makeup go on more easily, and smoothens the texture of my skin tremendously. On the other hand, I did not notice it lengthened the wear time of my makeup in any significant way. What it does beautifully for me, was its magical ability to erase the lines off my poor neglected neck, and make it look years younger!
Priced at SGD370 for 50ml, this is one hefty and decadent makeup primer! However, it does have some lovely skincare benefits and the texture and crisp uplifting scent make La Mer The Perfecting Treatment a truly luxurious experience. This is one of those miracle products that you can safely put on at night or anytime you are not going to be wearing any makeup but still would like a little something something to look amazing. For me, I put it on before my late night video conference calls for a boost of confidence. 😉 Check it out for yourself and decide, La Mer The Perfecting Treatment is now available at all counters in Singapore!
