La Mer The Brilliance White Mask
Usually when the spring season comes around, beauty brands start promoting their latest and bestest in brightening skincare… but this year seems to have been a little quieter than usual. What we lack in quantity though, is more than made up for in quality, with the launch of 2 especially remarkable brightening offerings from some of the most luxurious in skincare. Today, I’d like to introduce you to La Mer The Brilliance White Mask!
La Mer extends its very popular Blanc de La Mer skincare line with a novel two-step brightening mask. La Mer The Brilliance White Mask is unique in its composition as it works not only on stubborn pigmentation and dullness, but it also soothes and calms easily irritated skin.
The first step is to apply several drops of the fluid The Brilliance White Soothing Primer all over the face, neck and décolleté in an upwards and outwards motion, gently massaging to stimulate circulation. This primer contains a concentrated blend of La Mer’s precious Miracle Broth and a new Calming Ferment designed to optimise and prepare the skin for the intense brightening step that follows. The latter is a blend of algae, vitamins and nutrients that complements the healing action of the Miracle Broth, helping calm redness and irritation.
Using the accompanying velvety-soft brush, apply a thin even layer of The Brilliance White Gel Cream all over the face, and allow it to sit for 8 minutes. Thereafter, gently massage it into the skin to ensure optimal absorption. The Gel Cream delivers a highly concentrated new Vital Brilliance Ferment, which is a blend of sea-sourced actives and marine peptides that target stubborn discolouration and dullness. Miracle Broth delivers energy, radiance and healing hydration, while Lime Tea Concentrate protects skin against environmental aggressors.
Following The Brilliance White Mask, you may continue with the rest of your skincare ritual. Personally, I like to blot off the excess and follow with a quick sweep of toner to refresh my skin before sealing it all in with my Creme de La Mer. I did notice an instant brightening effect, and my skin looked plumper and more hydrated. However, I recommend a patch test before making the full purchase because this mask is highly active and I found my skin to turn rather sensitive after use. I definitely do not recommend using this in combination with a retinol-based product. On the other hand, if you are looking for a product that is as strong as it is luxurious, this is definitely one to check out!
