One of my favourite activities as a kid was colouring, and I remember receiving my very first box of Crayola one day and thinking they were the best things ever . And so when I laid hands on the Crayola for Clinique limited edition Chubby Sticks, I whooped in glee!
Clinique Chubby Sticks started out as a series of lip colours packaged as jumbo pencils. These were the first of their kind (there were of course others before this… like NARS, but all required sharpening) with a twist-up mechanism built in that didn’t require sharpening. In recent years, Clinique has also extended the line to eyeshadow in similar packaging, and there are several formulas featuring varying intensities.
For this collaboration, Clinique has taken some of the most popular shade names from Crayola, and created exclusive colour-matched hues. These are available in the original Chubby Stick for Lips formula as well as the Intense Moisturising Lip Colour Balm. The Crayola for Clinique Chubby Sticks are also dressed in a limited edition packaging that resembles the iconic crayons with their wavy bands along the top and bottom. I have a set of 8 minis, and here are their swatches:
Within the set, Brick Red, Fuzzy Wuzzy and Red Violet are the most pigmented, and are from the Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm formula. The others are from the Moisturizing Lip Colour formula, and are noticeably sheerer, though with a lustrous sheen. In terms of wear time, I did not observe any difference in longevity between the shades and formula. They are all comfortable on the lips, and do not have the annoying slippery feeling that some lip balms tend to have. There are 10 shades in this Crayola x Clinique collection, but only 6 are available in Singapore – Wild Strawberry, Pink Sherbet, Mavelous, Melon, Tickle Me Pink, and Red Violet. All are swatched above except for Tickle Me Pink.
The Crayola for Clinique Chubby Stick collection is limited edition and already out in Sephora stores in Singapore. Have you seen them yet?
This post featured products that were kindly provided for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
Brick red is beautiful! I wouldn’t opt for the sheerer ones (ok, unless I needed one which isn’t the case) but the reds are wowosies!! xxx
Yes!! Brick Red & Red Violet are my faves!!
This is so funny. I hope they don’t smell like the original crayons. And it’s funny to remember that my favorite color was– guess what? Red violet.
No they don’t smell at all. And why am I not surprised your fav color was Red Violet?! 😉
They all look so adorable! Enjoy! xx
