Guerlain lovers rejoice!! If there was 1 product from Guerlain that I never really took to, it was their blushes. Whilst their limited edition releases were always pretty and covetable, their permanent blush collection was sadly disappointing. So ever since Guerlain released a 4-shade cheek palette within their Petrouchka Eyes & Cheek Palette for Holiday 2014, and it was sooo good, I’ve been waiting for a whole new generation of blushes. And now, they finally did!! Ladies & Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the Guerlain Rose Aux Joues Tender Blush!
The brand new Guerlain Rose Aux Joues tender blush come in a black plastic casing that feels sturdy enough to me that I don’t bemoan the lack of heft that was part of the older metallic case. The surface of the powder is engraved with the signature beehive print topped by the interlocking-G Guerlain emblem.
Each Rose Aux Joues tender blush comes with 6.5gm of product and priced at USD52 (versus USD45 for 4gm of Chanel Joues Contraste blush). Within each palette resides a wide dome-shaped brush that does a decent job.
The new blushes are much softer to the touch and certainly much better pigmented than their predecessors. They are formulated with a “pink booster” pigment that captures natural red light to enhance the cheeks’ natural pink hue for a glow-from-within flush. I received the shade in Chic Pink as shown above, and found it to be the most delicious warm-toned salmon pink with tiny flecks of golden micro-shimmers.
There are 6 shades available, each one with the same name and color to match the 6 new Guerlain KissKiss Roselip. Here are the swatches for your reference:
You’ve already seen me wear Chic Pink on a number of occasions now, and I’m having a bad case of lazy-blogger-itis, so I’m just going to re-produce the same shameless selfie here, this time showcasing how Chic Pink looks on me.
This new Rose Aux Joues Tender Blush and the KissKiss Roselip tinted balm are the more interesting releases from this year’s Bloom of Rose Fall Collection. Whilst I did enjoy the Erin 6 Couleur Beaugrenelle palette, I am really glad to see Guerlain refresh their blush offerings!
Will you be picking up anything from the Bloom of Rose collection this coming season?
This post featured a product that was kindly provided for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
Hi Linda,
lovely swatches! I am so eyeing the path party and Wonder Violette. I need them in my life, Violet will be lovely for the upcoming season!
Wonder Violette has my eyes on it too!!!
I haven’t tried any blushes from Guerlain before. These look really pretty… but I just got rid of a few blushes. It would defeat the purpose if I got more new ones. LOL!
Hahahaa don’t worry these are permanent. You have plenty of time!
Oh I definitely have to swatch these! I think we’re only getting three shades here (say what) and I can’t remember which. I am hoping Crazy Bouquet is one of them tho!
What?! Why only 3?? Guardian has gone nuts! We didn’t get any of the summer stuff at all either!
I think they pick pieces that they think will sell better to launch on each market. I don’t imagine bronzers sell too well in Singapore!
