I have lots of Fall 2016 goodies to share with you, starting with the massive Too Faced collection that is set to drop in a couple of weeks’ time. I have tried bits and pieces from Too Faced over the years but never reviewed any on this blog, so I am excited to be expanding my repertoire today!
This Fall 2016, Too Faced has prepared tonnes of new products that are not just cool and fun looking, but are actually awesome additions to any beauty junkie’s arsenal. There are just too much to share so more pictures, less words.
The moment I caught sight of these Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Liners [SGD32 each] I squealed like a little girl. Their adorable clip-on caps and wonderful range of cheery colors are reminiscent of Magic Markers from childhood days. Each is inscribed with a peppy motivational phrase like “Too glam to give a damn”. Don’t let the cuteness fool you though, these are advanced liquid eye liners inspired by Japanese calligraphy pens. The felt tip is fine enough to draw precise lines, and there is enough swish in the tip to create the perfect feline flick. The ink flows beautifully, and there is enough time to smudge it out for all-over color before it dries and sets.
Once the Sketch Marker dries, it has admirable staying power and is waterproof. On my oily hooded lids though, it does wear off after a couple of hours, so if you usually have such problems be warned. Also, I noticed some feathering from the darker shades when I was swatching them, but I did not experience that when I was applying them on my lids.
Taking on the matte lip trend, Too Faced introduces the Melted Matte Liquified Matte Lipstick [SGD33 each]. Similar to the popular Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick, these are highly pigmented, full coverage liquid lipsticks in a range of 12 bold shades.
I have 7 of the shades to play around with, and each of them are equally pigmented. The texture is a light mousse and I personally prefer applying a thin layer and building up as needed rather than applying full-on thick. This is because as it dries down, it tends to emphasize lines and even though they are incredibly long lasting, they do get rubbed off with eating and drinking and the thicker the layer the more easily it wears off. It never gets completely erased though, and stays as a stain until it is properly removed with an oil-based makeup remover. Another thing to note is that whilst It’s Happening wore beautifully (my personal fave!), some of the lighter shades felt more drying on me.
Too Faced was one of the first to introduce a lip-plumping gloss, and this Fall the popular formula is reinvented with more colour options. Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy Juicy Color Plumping Lip Gloss [SGD34 each] is available in 6 shades, a good selection of nudes for every skin tone and a bright pink and coral red thrown in for some fun.
The texture of the Lip Injection Glossy is somewhat thicker than most other glosses, and there is a tactile feel to them but not annoyingly sticky. Though each of them are semi-sheer, some are more opaque then others. They last pretty well for glosses, and feel moisturising on the lips so I like adding a dab of this on top of the Melted Matte lipsticks. There is a tingly zing to the lips that sets in about 30-seconds after application, after which the lips appear plumper and lines are erased.
The most exciting product from the collection in my opinion is the new Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer [SGD44 each]. These concealers are as full coverage as the original foundation these were inspired by, in a fluid easy to blend texture. They come in a glass tube with a doe-foot sponge applicator, and there are 6 shades available in Singapore (10 in the US).
The shades that will be available locally are from Very Fair to Medium, and I am between Light and Light Medium for your reference. Ever since I received these, I have been obsessed with them, and I just can’t stop using them. I find liquid concealers most flattering on my aging undereye, and these Too Faced Born This Way Concealer blend easily and does not sink into lines even as the day progresses. And even for my pimple scars, the merest dab of this covers perfectly, followed by a couple of light taps with a finger blends it out perfectly.
To complete the entire routine, Too Faced Brow Quickie Brush-On Fiber Gel [SGD35 each] is available in 2 shades – Universal Taupe and Universal Brunette. Unlike most other brow gels, these gels not only deposit color on the brow hairs but on the skin as well. The fiber contained within mimics real hair to create fuller brows.
I have used brow gels when I had fuller brows as a teenager and found them very handy and almost goof-proof. However, these days my brows are much thinner and sparser, and I prefer using pencils to define followed by powder to fill in. Interestingly though, I tried recreating my brows using just Too Faced Brow Quickie and I was pleasantly surprised by how far it goes towards filling in my sparse brows and defining the shape!
Better Than Sex Mascara is now available in a Waterproof formula [SGD36 each]! The same hourglass brush thickens and lengthens lashes, and stays smudge-proof all day. The tube has a nice heft to it, and I really like the metallic seafoam green with the water droplets etched all over. There are some lash conditioning ingredients included to keep lashes healthy, shiny and longer-lasting with prolonged use. The formula feels thinner somewhat though, and requires more than my usual 2 coats, but this way I was able to get a longer length without clumps!
In case you don’t usually use a separate eye makeup remover and find waterproof mascaras too much of a hassle, you may want to consider Too Faced Mascara Melt Off. The rounded barrel-like comb basically allows you to sweep the product along the length of your lashes and removes waterproof mascara in a blink! This is very handy if you wish to change up your mascara without affecting the rest of your eye makeup and so much easier than a q-tip!!
Before I leave you, here is a makeup look featuring bits and pieces of this amazing collection. Above, I’m wearing Too Faced Sketch Marker in Charcoal Black smudged all around the rims of my eyes and Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara. Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Sparkling Bellini and Sweethearts Bronzer on the cheeks – I will review these separately soon! Too Faced Melted Matte in Feelin’ Myself on the lips.
Too Faced Fall 2016 collection will be rolling out at Sephora Singapore from 18 August, whilst the Melted Matte Lipsticks will be released on 29 September!

Your photos look lovely. I am definitely intrigued by the navy liner; and my eye went right to it’s Happening– and of course that is your favorite shade. What a pretty winey-pinky red.
You & I are color twins, Alison! Those liners are so fun… and great quality too!
We certainly are. I can buy stuff you wear sight unseen for sure. I like both these items– the lip is not the same fuchsia I have too many of. And the navy can be a backup for the Chanel liner from the Bleu collection which I use a lot in the fall and winter.
Oh my gosh I want EVERYTHING!!!! My heart can’t deal with the prettiness. You look lovely in the photos.
Hehehe….. yes you are a Too Faced princess, Desle!! Thank you for your sweetness!
Wow’ I can’t believe this is the first time you’ve featured Too Faced on your blog Linda! So many wonderful products that I hope you enjoy! I love the look you created too!
Yes i know…. i’ve grown much too narrow in scope over the years. Well, I hope this has rectified things a bit, and I’m working on more!!
So many pretties! My interested in Too Faced has calmed down, but I still love their eyeshadow primer and I’m very excited to try their concealers. At the moment I’m loving NARS and UD concealers, but still in the search of a perfect shade. Maybe Very Fair or Light could be my ideal shade? Looking forward to try!

Hi Laura, definitely try the concealer… I can’t stop raving about it!!! Light pulls a bit more yellow toned whereas both Very Fair and Fair are more pink. It’s probably best if you are able to test them out in person.
The heart shaped swatches are super cute. LOL! The concealer sounds good. Just by looking at the swatches, I think Light will be a good match for me. I’ll have to go check it out another day. I have yet to try Too Faced 🙂
Hehehe…. I can’t take credit for them because I’ve seen lots of other people doing that before me. Yes I think you’re definitely a Light! These are slated to be released in Singapore mid August… not sure about M’sia!
