Once in awhile, skincare takes a new leap forward, and gives us something that just makes complete sense. And that is how I feel towards Estee Lauder’s latest New Dimension skincare duo comprising of the Shape + Fill Expert Serum and Expert Liquid Tape.
Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum works on the inner levels of the skin, helping to rebuild volume and structure, so that cheeks appear rounder and the jawline more defined. The serum is impressively packed with beneficial ingredients, including a cocktail of Hyaluronic Acid, Fillagrin and Lipids to plump up the skin thereby creating a new fullness to the face. It goes further with a pro-collagen complex that helps to restore density to the natural fibres, so that skin will be firmer, and appear more lifted. The formula also contains several peptides that boost skin’s natural protein connectivity, improving elasticity and definition. Skin smoothers work on the external surface, allowing a smoother and more even texture.
Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum comes in the usual curved bottle with a convenient and easy to use pump dispenser. The turquoise color blends into silver, and is slightly reflective.
The serum is a light fluid that has a slight tackiness that is almost gel-like, and smoothes out easily to envelop the skin in a luxurious wrap. At the same time, it is really easily absorbed into the skin, leaving no sense of stickiness or heaviness.
Most skincare takes a long time to show any effects, more so when I switch up my products so often. So it was really interesting to me when within a week of starting on the New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum, a number of friends started commenting how my face looked slimmer.
The accompaniment to the serum is something completely novel, never before seen of, and bridges the boundary between skincare and makeup.
Estee Lauder New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape reminds me of the corrective tape that I used to rely on in school. It is made of fast-acting polymers that set and help provide a tightening lifting effect to the areas where it is applied. For maximum results, it is recommended to be applied on the cheekbones, jawline and brow bone. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid and pro-collagen complex to plump and firm up skin with continued use. As it can be used around the eye area, it complements the serum well.
The Expert Liquid Tape comes in a slim squeeze tube that has a flattened soft silicon applicator tip that helps to spread the product in a “line” on the key contours. I like that Estee Lauder has intelligently designed a twist-lock into the dispenser, to prevent too much product from being accidentally squeezed out when tossed around in a makeup bag.
I applied it on half my face, and I think the effects are very obvious!
Granted my face has always been asymmetrical, but Estee Lauder New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape had raised my eyebrow and even my normally droopy eye up. The right cheek is higher and the entire side of the face is slimmer. And just to show you where I applied the Liquid Tape, here is a side profile with the lines marked out.
Now, while I thoroughly enjoyed the immediately visible results of the Estee Lauder New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape, it does take quite a lot of work and care to apply. It needed to be applied on completely bare skin immediately after cleansing before the rest of your skincare. That is to enable the tape to grab hold of the skin and do its lifting magic without slipping on layers of moisturizer and serums. Subsequent skincare and makeup may only be applied after the tape has completely dried, and care had to be taken to ensure the tape does not break. That means no tugging and rubbing on the skin, and everything including foundation had to be patted on…really no easy feat!
Overall, Estee Lauder has managed to make skincare interesting and fresh with its New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum and Expert Liquid Tape. The Serum contains plenty of skin-loving ingredients, and a wonderful addition to any skincare regime. Do note though that it is recommended that a broad-spectrum, high-protection sunscreen should be used in the daytime while using the serum and for a week afterwards. The Liquid Tape can be very powerful when used correctly, and well worth the effort for a special event!

Oh this serum is on my wish list. tape… I think it is too much work for now but later when I get saggy, I might need it too 😉
Hopefully saggy will be a problem for the far far future! And can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the serum!
i have a 10 day sample of the shape and fill serum and i love it. I think it too has slimmed my face slightly and my skin feels firmer especially under my chin, Only two chins instead of 3 ha ha. I think the liquid tape maybe too much effort for me but a great idea in theory. Does it show under foundation?
Hi Mandy, the tape doesn’t show up it’s completely invisible! And yay to the effects of the serum!! I gotta start applying this on my chin too!
Thanks SIlverkis x
Hey Linda, our opinions are pretty much in line when it comes to these! I love the serum, but find Liquid Tape fiddly. I think having to pat everything else on is the hardest part, but dang it works really well on you!
Hi Sunny, yes we are definitely on the same page with these! I had to pull out my beauty blender and use a cushion foundation with this one… bounce bounce bounce and pat pat is the way to go!
