Glam it with Barbie: Dior Vernis 562 Emotion

Happy Monday ladies!  I had a rather uninspired weekend, and just couldn’t seem to get anything creative done.  We went from desert haze drought to monsoon overnight, and there’s not much sun for photo-taking.  Meanwhile, my lil bub has taken to a diet of milk-and-snacks-only, so each meal was a battle of wills involving the full water works and hour-long scream-test.

But we can’t start the week without at least some semblance of a blog post can we?!?!?

So in a spur-of-the-moment decision to continue on the Mani-Monday tradition, I bring you Dior Vernis in 562 Emotion, aka Glam It Like Barbie Bubblegum Pink!

This is part of the Diorsnow 2014 Collection (some swatches here), which is an Asia-exclusive collection but will be available in the US in the summer.  Emotion is part of 2 new and limited edition nail polishes released.

It looks like a sweet, pastel pink with shimmers in the bottle, but applies to be quite a bold Barbie doll pink on my nails.  It is just PINK, neither going so intense as fuchsia nor light baby pink.  It takes 2 coats, but is nicely opaque thereafter.

The formula itself dries down to a rather matte finish, and takes a good topcoat (I used the Dior Vernis Gelcoat) to get the glossy shine.  Regardless, I loved how quickly this dries!  I’ve gone back to applying manicures on my own lately, and have been switching it up between brands, and I think Dior Emotion dries the fastest!

There’s no better way to brighten up a rainy Monday than a fresh coat of bright happy polish!  And this Spring I’m embracing bright colors for my tips!  What about you?
