Ahoy there ladies! Get ready to set sail, for Summer 2014 collections are hitting our shores!!!
The Dior Transatlantique Summer 2014 Collection is inspired by Christian Dior’s love for travel and is marked by nautical references. It appears that Dior will be introducing 2 different Summer collections this year – Transatlantique for the US market, and Transat for Europe and rest of the world. The one thing that is similar across the 2 collections, and the only thing I really want, is this Diorskin Nude Tan Gold Shimmer Powder!
“…creates a soft golden glow on the skin as if kissed by the sun…absolute radiance.”
This beautiful compact is embossed with the collection’s signature rope pattern, which called out to me loud as a foghorn. As the name fully described, this is a metallic gold shimmer powder that works best as a highlighter. It is soft, finely-milled and very richly pigmented, so please go with a very light touch. I tend to just dab the tip of my candlelight highlight brush on the powder, and then swipe along my cheek bones.
It is quite different from the other highlighters that I have so far, much warmer and more glittery than even Charlotte Tilbury’s Box of Gold (reviewed here) swatched on the right. I also compared it with the recently released Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer in #14 Delicate Pink. I was quite surprised at this summer offering from Dior, which I had earlier imagined might be suitable for an all-over bronzilighter. But having experienced it in person, less is key. It does blend over the cheeks for a beautiful golden glowy look.
Diorskin Nude Tan Gold Shimmer Powder comes in the classic silver metallic casing with the interwoven cannage design, and a mini kabuki brush. This is limited edition, and was snapped up online at Saks shortly after it was launched. It should be docking at a local counter near you later this month, so watch out for it if this sort of shimmery liquid gold is your thing!
