Dior Fall 2016 Parisian Sky 5 Couleurs Palette

August 18, 2016

I am certainly falling hard for Dior Skyline Collection for Fall 2016.  I must admit, this took a little of a backseat in light of the other bolder collections, but the more I play with them, the more in love I am!  My first pick was the Capital of Lights palette that I reviewed yesterday, but unsuspectingly, my greater love is for the Dior 5 Couleurs Palette in Parisian Sky!

Dior 5 Couleurs Palette in Parisian Sky (506) is one of those palettes that I often pass by thinking, hmmm it’s just too 1-note.  With just 1 deepening shade, and 4 light-to-mid toned hues that have the tendency to pull chalky on my lids, Parisian Sky did not feel quite as versatile as Capital of Lights at first sight.  But oh, when you actually get up close with it in real life, this is exactly how Paris looks on a clear sunny day!

I am just blown away by the artistry of the Dior makeup creators in designing Parisian Sky, because it is just mesmerizing!  That lattice-work design aside, the softly glimmering shades are just beyond gorgeous!

And if you like a good neutral palette, than this is one you should not miss because not only does Parisian Sky come with a stunning brown and a couple of neutral all-over washes of color; it also packs 2 interesting accents that are understated but oh-so-chic.

I was surprised by the capacity for Parisian Sky to dial up the intensity.  For this eye look, I first applied the medium barley all over the lid as a base, thereafter I applied the dark brown on the inner third of my lid as well as the outer third.  I used a dense pencil brush in a dabbing motion to really pile the color on for it to show up this dark, with a fluffy airier brush it tends to sheer out like on my inner third.  Thereafter, I patted the silver shade on the center of my lid, you could to use a wet brush if you’d like to get even more intensity there.  Finally, I used the beige shade to blend out the crease, lined the lower lash line with the dark brown, and finished by popping the blue on the inner corner.

And here is the full look in context:

In the look above, I am also wearing Dior Addict Lipstick in Sophisticated (927) topped with Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Scandalous (929).  I also picked up Dior Vernis in Skyline (848).  I will save these for another post (hopefully tomorrow) so check back again!

Have you picked up either of these Dior 5 Couleurs Palettes for Fall 2016 yet?

Linda you look so beautiful and these shades suit you perfectly! I love love this palette and I have to say it’s my favorite of all the fall palettes I’ve seen so far. The emboss is very unique and the shades are all so me! I could definitely see myself wearing these every day as well as for special occasions. Great review and beautiful photos!

Ah I like this palette too… but I swatched it the other day and the 2 lighter shades look quite similar. The browns are lovely though – but that’s because I just love all sorts of browns!
