Cosme Decorte Makes You Bloom SS2018
I have been incredibly time-strapped lately… work has been keeping me up late at night, and I cannot seem to find the time to blog. Increasingly, I am tempted to move more of my sharing and reviews to Instagram. Since many of you are also spending more time on Instagram, please let me know what you think in the comments below!
Regardless, there are always some collections (especially makeup) that I think deserve their place in history, for which I will always try to make it a point to share them in greater depth here. I love sharing beautiful pieces with you, and showing & describing swatches with you and make up looks. Especially when they are as lovely as the new Cosme Decorte AQMW point makeup this season!
Japanese makeup are usually understated and feminine, but Cosme Decorte truly excelled this season with an extensive line-up featuring new seasonal colours as well as revamps on some of their existing staples. My favourite seasonal colours from Cosme Decorte come in these gorgeous round pots…
There are 30 new shades of Cosme Decorte Eye Glow Gem this season, and I have 4 of them here. Just released last summer, these eyeshadow monos feature a bouncy gel-like texture that is a dream to smooth and blend on the eyes. For a full review on the formula, please head over here.
From left to right, the shades are:
- WT083 – a frosty white glitter with a translucent base. This shade works best layered over the others for a touch of sparkle, but I also use it with a tiny pencil brush on my inner eye corner to brighten and open up my eyes.
- PU180 – one of my absolute obsessions this season! This is best described as a maroon shade that shows up with enough intensity for a pop of colour. At the same time it blends out like a dream to reveal a more neutral-ish darker base for a fun-yet-still-wearable smoky look.
- BR384 – medium-dark bronze that is one of those colours that I can never get enough of. Easy to wear, enough micro-shimmers to still be fun, I will hoard this til I die.
- BE 392 – light champagne with a warm-undertone. This one has a strong metallic shine, more suitable for highlighting.
To put the finishing touches on the eye look, there are new eyeliners, mascara and even brow pencils.
- Cosme Decorte Lasting Gel Eyeliner is a swivel-up pencil liner that comes with a sponge-tipped blender at the opposite end. I found the formula to be really long-lasting on my wet and oily upper and lower lash lines, which is really remarkable. It does not have as much slip as my usual Chanel Stylo Yeux but it certainly stays on better. Available in 5 shades, and refills are available.
- Cosme Decorte Pencil Eyebrow is a thin swivel-up brow pencil that efficiently lines and fills in the brows without any tugging. It has enough pigmentation without leaving any harsh lines, and the spoolie at the opposite end is hands-down the softest I have ever used!! I love that Cosme Decorte has offered us a gray shade that is just perfect for my skin tone! Available in 4 shades, and refills are available.
- Cosme Decorte Luxscara Lengthening Mascara is 1 of 2 newly reformulated mascaras, and has a really interest brush that lengthens and separates my lashes beautifully. Japanese mascaras generally do not volumnize much, and this one that I have is specifically designed for lengthening, but I still found it defines my skinny lashes beautifully. I love that it does not clump, no matter how many coats I layer on, just elegant and natural. I don’t make it a point to sniff my mascaras, but this one had a noticeable fragrance that I really enjoyed. It goes away once dried though, and does not linger.
And putting all these to work in a single eye look…
I first lined my lash line generously with the Cosme Decorte Lasting Gel Eyeliner in BR301, blending out with the sponge-tipped end. Next I applied Eye Glow Gem in BE392 all over my lid as a base, then I layered BR384 over it. Added PU180 to the outer corner, blending upwards as a fun smoky touch; and finished with WT083 on the inner corner. Finished with 2 coats of Luxscara Lengthening Mascara in BK001, and defined my brows using Pencil Eyebrow in GY002.
For the lips, there are 20 shades of Cosme Decorte The Rouge. This is a melting cream formula that feels almost balm like, but packs a good dose of colour to be fully opaque with just a single swipe. I like the luscious gloss finish, and it keeps my lips feeling really soft and hydrated. The shade that I have here is PK853 which is a light pink that has sufficient red pigments at its base, and does not turn my lips grey. An easy-to-wear, and feminine everyday colour!
