I wasn’t planning to pick up anything from Clé de Peau this season… The colors seem somewhat muted for my tastes and the price point just too extravagant (yes even this luxe queen has limits!). But somewhere between a long lunch tetetat and a mad dash back to office, this small little pot caught my eye.
Clé de Peau Beauté brings you an exquisitely creamy blush designed to blend into your skin with a soft texture and rich, luminous color. It accentuates your natural contours, giving your cheeks an enchanting wintery glow.
Clé de Peau Beauté Rosy Frost Blush is a medium raspberry pink, with hints of purple / blue. It sits cool on my skin, and is just a hint of shimmery giving that highlighting effect without the need to reach for another product. It is quite pigmented so a little goes a long way.
The way I like to wear this is simply swirl my finger in the pot quickly, then dab 3 dots along my cheekbones on either side. Thereafter, I blend it out using a dense & stiff brush. My favorite for this purpose is the Tom Ford Cream Foundation brush! It is just the right size, density and stiffness for me, and it feels so gentle & luxe on my skin! Why ruin a luxury blush with anything less?!
Clé de Peau Rosy Frost Blush is a dreamy blush that blends very well to give that natural flush and highlighted effect. It is on the high-end of the price spectrum, and I’m not going to tell you it is worth the belt-tightening. But it definitely outlasts Chanel cream blushes (reviewed here) by at least an hour or two, and the pot contains 6gm for $80 (vs. Chanel’s 2.5gm for $58) which sorts of rationalizes things somewhat. And based on how I’ve been using this baby for every day for the past 2 weeks and I hardly see a dent, I think this will last me a lifetime!
